No Bert, i've accepted the Under 18s job for 2010, got a huge job setting it up first, the coach of one of our 16s this year was also coaching Parra's 18s, and has decided to take most of our local products to Parra, so i've got a huge job convincing those kids, and their parents, to stay local. I'm confident i can keep the bulk of them, we probably have a better relationship with East Coast than Parra (so if any kids want to play at a higher level) and its not as if playing at Parra is playing at a higher level, as we'll be applying to move back to Division 2 next year, so we'll be direct competitors. And the local issue too.
So, i'll have my hands full with that, and all the rehab on my leg. But my Twitter spokesperson, Doormat, will be sure to keep you all updated on that. Fool he is.

Yeah, good Coach. Good luck with getting him across the line, hope it works out. He'll shake a few things up too and being an outsider is always good.

Great to see you being involved with getting an 18's team up and running. All the best....any of your juniors that decide to continue playing at HP would have to have rocks in their heads. Two very different styles of coaching.

Hoping to return to the field one day Bert, i am seeing a knee specialist today to determine a course of action in regards to surgery, but from speaking to others who have had less serious knee injuries, i'm looking at at least a year off. We'll go head to head in hopefully 2011 of all goes well. I'm just short of my Club 100 games, so i want to reach that before i give up completely.

Thats my line of thought, why bother going there when they have what they need out here? Only reason remaining would be to play with mates, which is fair enough. But its 30 mins to Gipps from out here. I'm not expecting it to be easy to set up, so we'll see. Look forward to the challenge.

Thought you had already (given up), hence the strong arm tactics (sniping )u kept on using over the past several seasons Good luck with the doc & make sure they operate on your knee & not that mindless space between your shoulders

Worked out well, top bloke, great coach, great news for us to move forward.

C'mom pk yes you have (been sacked) surely they have not over looked you yet again to take the club forward

God help the 18's as nothing will help them or the parents if your coaching

And no, i was having a lend, i haven't been sacked, if you know your mail well enough, you'll also know that i got this person in question down a few weeks before finals to help me and the club out, with the view of taking over from me in 2010 and beyond. Worked out well, top bloke, great coach, great news for us to move forward.

Wow, Doormat, four seasons in one day, a backhander, a little compassion, then back to throwing rocks at me again!! I appreciate your compassion though. But your first post suggests you are an opponent. Geez you must play soft footy if you think i'm a sniper on the field, makes me laugh!! I'd have more scalps if i was a sniper, i tell you that much. Just play the game how it was taught to me.
Shinerunner, i can understand that many players have come back from knee injuries, and i take heart from that, however, i'm sure Pearson didn't snap the medial, lateral, posterior and anterior cruciates all at once. I just returned from the surgeon, and he said it was the worst knee injury he has seen, and he works on the Panthers and other NRL players. In saying that, he has told me it can and will be repaired, but at least a year off with intense physio. So i will play again one day soon, just not in 2010, meaning, by 2011, Doormat will have worked up the courage to come and have a crack at me, knowing i'll be slower and less mobile. Its like lions in the wild, the young ones always try to take the older ones spot. Just ask, i'll give you the pride!
