    East Coast win the Title

Congratulations to the Eagles on a talented and disciplined victory.

They have done it tough on this Board over recent years and surely now deserve their share of credit.

The Bulldogs probably would have beaten any other side in the comp yesterday other than East Coast, who were at the top of their form.

    1. Humphrey, where are you?

    2. Based on the large contingent of West Coast people at the G/F, that contrary to the gurus who have posted here recently about the demise of their partnership with the Sydney Eagles, it looks to me that is stronger than ever.

Congratulations to East Coast on yesterday's premiership. For the last few years they've been contenders, but they've now gone the next step and set a benchmark for other clubs to try to match next year. To all the East Coast people on here, congratulations on a job well done.

Grand Final Day was a great day. Perfect weather until the smoke from the hazard reduction burns blew in, and three good quality games played in good spirits. The day was well organised, a good crowd was in attendance and St George moved plenty of stock on the canteen.

RWO's match report from the Grand Final is now online.

For any of you who want to re-live the colour and excitement of Grand Final day, and for anyone who wasn't there and would like to see it, I've uploaded some photo galleries from the Grand Final.

Under 18s Grand Final - North Shore v St George

Under 18s Grand Final - After the game

First Division Grand Final - UTS v East Coast Eagles

First Division Grand Final - After the game

Premier Division Grand Final - East Coast Eagles v UNSW-ES

Premier Division Grand Final - After the game

Am looking forward to seeing Michael Vettas' galleries when they go online.

        Anyone Out there ????

I cannot believe that it is the Monday after the grand final and we have a grand total of 3 posts about the game/season/winners/losers....

        where has everybody gone ?

Is it that this board has lost a whipping boy in the Eagles...? It was easier for most of us to have a shot at them safe in the fact that they did not have a premiership. I recall a lot of banter about trophy cabinets and flag poles.

Has anyone got an opinion or should we call time of death of this forum 4.53pm Saturday 19th September, 2009 (Thanks to the Eagles website for the time reference)

I suppose there is always shooting Balmain fish in the barrell to keep us all going.

I'm here Northern Spy ... just.

Firstly thank you Norris for your match review and for your kind words about the Club.

It really was a dream come true for East Coast in 2010. The establishment of our new ground opened up all sorts of new opportunities, which have now manifested themselves into a Premiership.

Congratulations to everyone involved from players, coaches, members, supporters, the Board of Directors, the Hills Shire Council and last but not least, West Coast. As Cazaly alludes to above, the boys from Perth are still very much in the picture, don't worry about that.

Special congrats from me to my successor as President / Chairman. Gus Seebeck took on the role whilst still intending to play and many wondered whether he could do that, plus juggle his commitments at Channel 10 & 1HD and run the Eagles as well. History has now shown that he can. A Premiership, 111 goals, 10 in a Grand Final and a Rod Podbury Medal proves that. And if you wondered why he was so stoked, it was his first Premiership since the U/11's back in Melb.

See you all at the pub ....

I beleive your comments above is called "hitting the nail on the head" northernspy. If the Bulldogs had got across the line, I think this site might have gone into meltdown .

Well done to the Eagle, fantastic effort and greatly deserved.

You yourself deserve some of the kudos Pete, has been a long road since the Charles Mac & Baulko days, and you, Laima, Ben n Tim, (and of course Oscar) have put alot of blood, sweat n tears into the club from those days right up until now and into the future as well i'm sure. I am sure you'll be given a medal if you haven't already.
And as said previously, no-one can bash the Eagles, Premiers in 2009 and still the best run club in Sydney. The Jets two grades and the Eagles ressies may have lost their finals, but at least the Alliance got the big one!!! Well done Eagles!

Geez Pekay, Doormat missed the deadline! I'll extend it another two hours for him/her.

A huge congratulations to the East Coast Eagles on winning their maiden AFL Sydney Premier League premiership on Saturday. It's been a long time coming and is a testament to their professionalism and dedication that this year will go down in history as perhaps the proudest in the history of the club (Baulko days included) with a new home ground and now the ultimate prize.

It was also fantastic (and unheard of by me) to see the club award the extra eight premiership medals to some of the most dedicated and hardest working members off the field, including ex-president Peter Physick and the man grand final day was dedicated to, Ross 'One More Eagles' Abercrombie, a heart-and-soul member of the club who it was great to see looking so well on Saturday after a trying past few months.

Commiserations also to the Bulldogs, and especially to Luffy, who I feel for as his desperate search for a premiership must wait another year - if anyone deserves a flag it's him. Also to Jason Coulloupas, who played for the Eagles in their two GF losses and was on the wrong team against them on the weekend.

All in all, a fantastic season and one I and the rest of the Digital Sports team have really enjoyed bringing to you all on Main Event Channel 518 on Friday nights. Don't miss the grand final wrap this Friday night from 6.30pm.

yes, footy has been ruined thanks to UNSW being unable to prevent the boys from baluko winning.

the worst thing that happened to Basketball was when the Kings won
When queensland won the sheffield shield, it lost some mystique
so much of this saturday's thetre is because the saints have but 1 flag

i remember North Shore enjoying calling the demons 'chokers' between 95 and 2000

We have now an even spread. In my 18 years in footy, i think every club has now won the a first grade flag

maybe we do need UTS in the comp to not win a flag for 20 years

Well done to East Coast. They deserved to win on the day. Plenty about it on their website.

Not a mention of their Reserves though who also played a grand final, I believe.

How funny is that. For years the Eagles cop @@@@ because there is no senior premiership at the club and we celebrate our ressies flags. Now, we win a senior premiership, and people are having a crack because we didn't mention the twos... no pleasing some people...
