Its the nature of the beast, its business these days. Sponsors want a return for their outlay, so they get the best they can. Any club in Sydney would be mad not to recruit, given our state's status as the worst state in Australia for footy development. And for a club out this way, like East Coast, its not often a player from interstate will move out this way, not with the beaches and city life further towards town, so why shouldn't they pursue a stronger list??
From their GF winning side though, the following are products of the North-West of Sydney, some are even local Baulko players-

    Ben Physick- Baulko
    Dan Spiteri- Hawkesbury
    Michael Johnston- Westbrook i think
    Rowan Bilkey (c)- Baulko
    Brad Ure- Baulko
Ryan Fitton- pretty sure he's a local, not an import, played local soccer before footy i think
    Ben Rogers- Baulko

Thats a third of their team from local junior clubs, pretty good effort. Penno last year would be even more i reckon.
We had in our Senior Finals team, out of 30, 19 local juniors, and similar in reserves, and coming up against the likes of Sydney Uni, UTS and UNSW/ES, i doubt they would've had 19 between them from Sydney. It certainly didn't help us win any games though.

    Money Changes everything

Seems at the end of the day, whether 1 year or 3 money changes everything. Yes Some clubs have money threw hard work and fundraising and some have it threw the fortunate wealth of those involved. (lets Salary Cap SFL) could we???? But what is disappointing, is that the once upon a time a junior started at a club for a reason and stayed...Cause he 1. Supported the club. 2. His life long mates would be at the club.3. He wanted that club and his mates to be successful.. I didnt see any of this in the Premier Div Grand Final...Neither team...Both tried to Buy one....Of course 1 did. I would however like to know just how many (breed) local juniors played for there respective clubs in that GF. I can see the happiness of each player in there premiership team photos ......BUT WAKE UP AND smell the @@@@ing roses these blokes played beside you cause NOT that they wanted to they got paid too..... AND more than likely hated you. And NOW they have a flag expect them to @@@@ of. The coach has been a Gold digger and dragged alot with him. And yes for those about to say... "Congrats to them" but it will be a one of.Cause money dosnt last for ever...Ask luffy at Balmain...UNWES...Theres will be gone by end of 2010..Ahhh of course Nth Shore at the moment.....Build your clubs around enternity not immediate success...Cause it dosnt last in the long run. "Yeah" Good while it does...Cause thats the time you'll be there but when it gets tuff you'll be gone??????? Just how many clubs has this happened to??? Its @@@@@@ and is ruining Sydney Football....Trust me........
