Wow, that's deep. I don't care what people say or think about me, I can't control what others think...And why would I care about what someone I dont know from a league I don't care about thinks about me?? You on the other hand, you get all fired up at the drop of a hat. You just keep fighting the good fight down there. If you put as much of this passion and loyalty into running the club as you do on gibbering on here, you wouldn't be losing players hand over fist like you have the last few years. Just a thought.

Good point Sam.
First night was great, about 6 new faces, some returning to footy after a short break, some from other clubs, had close to 40 train which is great start for us. Was about 30 deg during the day out here so better turn out than expected. We train on our back up ground during summer which is in fantastic condition, soft but firm.Comment

Balmain have signed Saddington but is Saddington Captain/Coach of Balmain?
The SAFL website says:
Dockers President was understandably excited with the signing ?Jason will not only play but also have a key coaching role...."
?Jason is keen to assist the Club in reaching new levels of performance and will also become actively involved in junior development in future support of our 'Club Pathway' links with Drummoyne Power, Glebe Greyhounds and the North Ryde Dockers together with the Central Coast?.
There's no mention of that of him being Club Captain or Senior Coach. The coaching role looks to be aimed at junior development or in an assisting role.
Spoiler/Cheese, what's the word?
What links Balmain to the Central Coast?Comment

Alex mitchell, Luke Freemantle and Bryce singleton all came down to play for the dockers this year. Good players. And the Balmain 18s have set up a partnership whereby every year they go for a trip to the Central Coast and play Killarney Vale. Quite clever really.
And a romour is going around that Dockers might be going back to Tigers. Now yole is gone.Comment

[QUOTE=Cheese Cake 69;466295]Just stick to caring what your own club is doing Pekay. All people do is bag Balmain on this site and then everyone likes to point the finger and attack the one guy with a bit of loyality and passion for sticking up for the club he loves?
unless ur raffles i think ur not the only one who has loyality and passion for the club you loveComment

Yole is definitely still here

I can guarantee you that CheeseCake69 is David Yole - so he is definitely still here.
I can also guarantee you that Jones, Napper, Dickens, Turner and Ryan are in Melbourne doing preseason with VFL clubs.
That's a huge blow for Saddington.Comment

Had a look at their website and their recent notice to members stated that "A Memorandum of Understanding is to be established with FFC in relation to the provision of 'quality' footballs pre-season, wind jackets and other equipment"
So..... Balmain sold their soul to the Freo Jokers and all they get in return is some second hand footies for pre-season training and a bunch of Freo-branded wind jackets and water bottles....
No wonder we all laugh at them on here....Comment

i dont think going back to the Tigers will help win game, players and coachs did that, get that right and you win.
if i am right, mac uni went from bottom to top in 1 year with about 20 new players and i think a new coach back in 1998, so it can be done if you get it right.
the club just needs to start to get it right.Comment

Would think that it would be a lot harder and a lot more exepnsive to recruit that number at SFL level and the coach, again not cheap, will be critical.
Not impossible but very very difficult...Comment

From memory they were 6th or 7th out of 10 the year before with 5 or 6 wins so they were coming from a stronger base. They did get a new much better coach in but the 20 new first graders is probably about right.

Not impossible but very very difficult.... Last in 93 only 3 wins and then won back to back 94-95 so can be done. As you said though you need more than two or three players
The edge is not the limit, It's just the starting point...Comment

I congratulate Balmain on the signing , I just hope they have been diligent and are not giving out more then they are getting in ...which is a problem for some clubs.
People can be critical and say what they like , I have no affiliation with any club so Im looking at things from an overall perspective...surely Saddington is a marquee name that would ultimatally lift the profile of the Sydney AFL , as would Crouch , SchmidtComment
