    Maroubra AFC

Rumour has it that Maroubra will be fielding a senior team in 2010.

Super stuff IMO but can anyone cast any light on this? Ground, Coaches, Players, Committee, Sponsors etc etc.....

I think it's great to see a new club joining the league. I hope the league continues to grow and attract the creation of more clubs over the next few years. With the amount of players in around the cbd i can't see why another club in the area couldn't work.
I would be surprised if the new saints club couldn't attract 50 players saying this i think they should be in div 3 and 4 not just div 4 as has been reported.
I think if they just have 1 side in div 4 they probably win it in there first year as you only need 6 good players in that div to beat everyone.
    Anyone have any thoughts?

I believe that the league will be strict on clubs not being able to field two teams in the same division. Clubs are better off without that scenario anyhow. Seems to cause tension at times in junior clubs with the "split" etc.
I would imagine if Maroubra got 60 or so (I was going to say "odd") players that they should be competitive in Div 3 with their best 30.
Great to see the competition grow but I believe that the league should not allow clubs to form "willy nilly". They would have to put in a business plan with junior pathways and MOU's with those feeder clubs to ensure long term longetivity. First step would be a minum of 30 + players registered to play. Without safeguards, forfeits will occur which is very detrimental to the game.

            Saints and stuff

Just wondering if the saints jumper will clash with the new Mac jumper now they have changed to red black and white, (Got to love sydney Football traditions) Now not only are the SFL clubs a bunch of pea heart sheep but the true backbone of Sydney footy are starting to follow, (Whether it be external influences or not). Im just waiting for he English premier league and sydney football elianses to start to happen. Surely thats got to be good for Sydney footy.
As for new clubs in the comp, since when are Sydney AFL interested in expanding the comp, after kicking StMary's out because they didnt have a reserve grade, god forbid a bunch of guys get together for a social game of footy.

What do you mean by that?I don't get it.
Totally agree with your second statement re St Clair, were a handy team in Div 2 back in 03-06. Although, it was the previous people in charge that dissolves the Crows, not the new ones.

Ah, I get it. Money talks though, you'd be mad not to consider it. Not just money either, resources (coaching wise etc) but it does break down alot of tradition. But then again, Shore have worn the Bombers colours forever, so hardly a massive change, probably to differentiate from the now defunct NRL Bears.
And it was Falcons. Junior clubs was/is Hawks & Kookas.
