If they've got someone with half a brain in charge of the money tin, they could set themselves up for the long term.

If the amount of their cash injection is in the ballpark of what I've heard, then even a conservative investment would give them an investment income each year that would better the income of any other club in Sydney, and that's before you even factor in sponsorships, player fees, etc

Finally, someone says something constructive. While I was personally disappointed, the new administration and coaching structure at Balmain seems very good from all reports. How can it possibly hurt the reputation of Sydney footy to have some ex-AFL players in the mix?

They just need to get more players on the track.

Yeah surely you could get alot more than 5% on 8Mill, even if that was all you got youd have 250K a year to spend after paying tax

Pace if Balmain had any sense they'd get in touch with Rowdy becuase he would certainly be a good person to advise them on where to invest their money he certainly has the background for it.

Surely these figures could not be correct?? That is large dollars

We would not spend $350 on our top player let alone a full back unless he was Steven Salvagni

Where does Jamie Vlatko come from?

                          Dugmore would be worth it

And surely Jarjoura wont be welcome anywhere up here except maybe balmian

i thought John Vlatko was the captain, not Jamie?

                            Charleston is very very good.

I think the Vlatko from SA is a key forward, bit bigger than John. Dugmore for $450 a game? What, has he slashed his match payments because they got him a cushy job? It might be interesting to compare the playing budgets of Balmain and East Coast. Having said that, everyone on here is always whinging about the standard. Provided they can sustain it, good luck to them. It would however in my opinion take a little bit of the shine off a flag.
