Im surprised no-one has bought up the fact that UTS got beat by Manly at home on the weekend?

Been in Tassie for a week and didn't actually notice. But that is something that wouldn't have happened for a long time and probably won't happen again for just as long.
A big result that suggests the Wolves are going to be a major player again this season."It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

For years their ambition was thwarted by North Shore small minded self interest (e.g. 1985 when they won an unprecedented triple premierships) but perhaps we have moved on from that....Comment

Their not the most popular team but there's no doubting that Manly are the sleeping giant of the Sydney scene. With their juniors in order (Manly juniors one of the largest and fastest growing junior clubs plus Pittwater and a natural link to Forest), a well-defined catchment area, upgraded facilities (when they finally get completed) Manly are definitely a contender for the step up to First Division.

Agree with what you say, they are a well run club. Easy to attract players to that area too. Just hope the rolling hills of Weldon are top of the priority list to go. Seen many an ankle destroyed on the undulating surface.
As for the Bats, last team to beat them at Trumper were in fact Manly in a brutal game. Manly bashed them off the park, been told that story many times over by Razzle. Not sure if it was 2007 or 08, think it was 07 when the Wolves won over Sharks in the GF, UTS went south after Manly smashed them.Comment

Yeah, Mac Uni won the threapeat and are the only SFA club to do so. I was referring to the First Ressies and U20s win in the one year. They were ready to go that year for the SFA but the NSWAFL put too many obstacles in their way, allegedlyComment

yeah it was a good win, enough to give them some confidence that they can compete well at this level, which is always the first aim of stepping up a league. DK is doing a great job with the guys, and some new guys have come through well, including our original u18's now playing seniors (which reflects the great work from Jezza who was Pres at the time). The Club still has a lot to do though and a couple of tough games in next 2 weeks with Bombers away and local derby with Penno at home.
But I agree with you, UTS still favourites and Eagles will bounce back.
It possibly gives a positive message to the new divisional structure though....Comment
