    Chris Hughes

One of my top mates (and father of one of my godchildren) Chris Hughes has been officially diagnosed with the aggressive Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Tough times ahead for his family (3 young kids). He only found out by chance whilst breaking his hip coming in to bowl in a game of cricket last month. Yes ouch!

There is a good chance that your path has crossed with Chris. He has been involved in Aussie Rules in Sydney for about 15 years. He has played or coached at Wests, Camden, Manly, NSW Women, North Shore, junior rep sides, Emergency Services, etc. Whilst he is one of the biggest men that you could meet, I think you all agree that he is also one of the gentliest & kindest. A big teddy bear. He has started chemo & his family remains extremely optimistic for the future.

It is intended that we are going to have a fundraiser of some type in the future. Please drop me a line if you are interested in attending or would like to help out in some way. Any AFL memorabilia that could be mustered up for auction would be gratefully appreciated.

    Yours in footy.

Put our club down for a table of 10 when its happening, more than happy to help out for such a terrible situation.

Chris was the inaugural coach of the Greater Western Power and this news is a shock.
            Get well Chris.
Put me down for any fundraiser that is organised

We are hoping to be able to lock in a date and venue next week. Chris started chemo last week & all going well so far.

I don't know Chris personally, but I certainly know the name. It's very unfortunate news and I wish him all the best.

It would be great if the fundraiser goes ahead so Sydney footy gets the chance to show Chris its support.
