    Campbelltown Under 18's

Notice that they were defeated by easts/Unsw and no scores ?

Was this a forefit - if so this would be their second of the year

Interesting to see front runners North Shore and Pennant Hills both lost close games

Footy can be a different game in the wet

Tomorrow's game Saints V Sydney Uni could be very interesting

Yeah mate, according to the pre-match fixture list it was a forfeit by Campbelltown. They've explained the reasons in the Balmain under 18 thread.
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

    YOU BETCHA!!!!!!

Noticed another forfeit by the Town 18's this weekend.....a bit worrying considering it's the second time this year they have done so.

sadly another no game for the Macarthur boys

doesn't help North Shore either leading into next weeks Blacktown game against Penno

Plainly obvious that the Blues must drop to CC in 2011 and that Penrith must come into Premier 18's

Southern Sharks are currently in 2nd spot in CC. If they make the Grand Final this year it will be 3

Grannies in a row for the shire lads.

Sharkies definitely a strong Div 1 club who imo would make it 4 SFA teams in the top 5 next year.

You never know what is going to happen from year to year and the league should probably revert to trial games for premier & CC, 3 years ago C Town were in top 3 or 4, last year again had some good players and from those 2 sides 10 are permanent fixture in 1st grade side.

This year we only had basic numbers of 20 and 6 u16s that said they would play every week, after 3 weeks those u16s that committed were told not to play which left 20,add 4 long term injuries that we have picked up along the way(none will return this year),leaving a squad of 16 players.

Last week we had 7 of those 16 away on school holidays, which is frustrating for the remaining 9 who want to play each week, so 6 of them played in the 3rd div side.

Next year will be different, as all bar 2 of the 16 are 1st year players, we will also get about 20 players that have committed from the teams currently running 2nd & 3rd in the greater west juniors, which will mean that the club should be competitive again.

Trialing for each div is probably the best way to go but not always a logistical option.

Good luck if you get the numbers as thought. Looks like you never had a true 18's team to start with so there was the problem. Would assume that Town would apply to play in Challenge for a chance to rebuild

As the junior numbers in the south west area continue to slide, the only "difference" each year will be that it will get harder to field an 18's side, competitive or otherwise! Check what is happening in your back yard, if it's the same as 5 years ago, nothing will get better for at least 5 years!

Hoping you can field a competitive team next year. Sydney AFL can well do without the 18's drama's (in both divs) next year

'Town put up a good showing against Wests at Blacktown

They would have done even better except they did not have a bench

I liked the look of the Lewis Jetta clone (number #2) for Campbelltown

Hope they finish the season off well

Roscoe, the boys have been more competitive over last 2 games, went down to wgong and led till midway through 2nd qtr with 14 players, they are still putting in, but lack of numbers/bench always gets them before 1/2 time.
The Lewis Jetta clone has never played before but always puts his head over the ball and very rarely gets beaten, needs work on his kicking style but is improving all the time.
