    Representative Side

Here's the 23 man squad as named. Thoughts?

B: Declan Donohue (St George); Chris Murphy (North Shore); Chris Jordan (Campbelltown)

HB: Jeremy Kiel (UNSW/ES); Ryan Bottin-Noonan (Campbelltown); Kieran Wright (Pennant Hills)

C: Teddy Strudwick (North Shore); David Linsen (Western Suburbs); Matt Edwins (Campbelltown)

HF: Ben Absolum (Western Suburbs); Matt Withers (Western Suburbs); Mark Egan (Sydney University)

F: Alex Lee (Sydney University); Jamie Vlatko (East Coast Eagles); Sam Crichton (Sydney University)

R: Easrl Shaw (UNSW/ES); Damian Bowles (East Coast Eagles); Shane Ryan (East Coast Eagles)

Int: Rohan Lilly (Western Suburbs); Ryan Silvester (East Coast Eagles); Daniel Spiteri (East Coast Eagles); Rowan Bilkey (East Coast Eagles)

    Emerg: Leigh Lavery (UNSW/ES)

The first thing I notice is that East Coast have the best record in the league in terms of points against, yet they couldn't get a starter in the back line...

Wason and Richardson are big outs...

Suprised Davo didn't get a run in a pocket to provide defensive pressure in the forward line.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

yeah very interesting with some points there,

back lines no ece's and definately over last two years especially think proven good defenders. especially that bloke bilkey.

        Wason definately a big out.

COLLINGULLIE-Ashmont-Kapooka champion Brad Aiken has promised an under-strength Farrer League will have a "fair dinkum crack" at this...

Bit of talk on the Rep Carnival down south. Think the Sydney boys will street it though. A shame there isn't any lower grade players in the mix though, but a damn strong team.

Bit ugly against the Ammos. Who went down there?

Well done to the development team on their win though, there's quality in the younger ranks.

Just wanted to congratulate the AFL Sydney Development Squad. They are a brilliant bunch of young men - both on & off the field. The manner in which they conducted themselves is a credit to their upbringing. I was worried about looking after 24 young blokes for the weekend but they were brilliant & received untold praise from hotel management, restaurant patrons & football officials. I think the local lasses (and cougars) were swept off their feet as well. With an average age of only 20, there is some exciting times in Sydney footy in years to come. Exciting to think that 37 players made themselves unavailable across the two rep squads & this side lost a few u/23 to the Senior side & still pulled off victory.

They are a credit to AFL Sydney & I have no hesitation in recommending any of these young fellas. Thanks again for your help guys - you made it a memorable weekend & deserve the accolades that you receive.

Good to hear Rafters after the shenanigans that took place down there a couple of years ago.

Yes I had only heard about those stories in the days leading up to the Carnival ... but let me re-iterate what great ambassadors these 24 men were for AFL Sydney. 10 out of 10. And I am a hard marker.
