The RWO wrap of the weekend's action is now online, including a match report and pics from the Wests v East Coast game.
And although East Coast were well beaten, that speckie from Damian Bowles in the first pic would have to be a contender for mark of the year.
Won't be in contention if it wasn't the TV game. Pottsy took a screamer v Camden last year that made the eventual winner look pedestrian. I asked if it was considered for MOTY and was told that it can't if its not on the Digital Sports game.

I'll put the pic up when I get home, not a bad screamer, geez he got high.

The Gong kicked 5 goals before St George troubled the flag wavers and it looked very ominous. Some good hard defence and committment gradually turned it round late in the first and in the second quarter. The third quarter saw the Saints in front for the first time and despite dominating the game for the second half the scoreboard did not tick over often enough for the Saints. There were some big hits and hard knocks but the two teams kept at it. A couple of the young Saints kept Ewen Chappell pretty quiet which did not help Gong chances. Plenty of limping players from both sides left the field and came back later to perform important roles. It was a gutsy display from both teams but Saints were just a bit better as the result showed. Did not not think the umpires had a great game but then again I was sitting watching so....

Real committment to the team and club by both sides.
