Brad Abbott's Farewell Game This Week

Quick note to mention it is a pretty big weekend for the UNSW-ES Bulldogs this week, as we say farewell to club legend Brad 'Super' Abbott.

A bloke who on the surface looks more suited to be at Randi-Wicks sipping on an illusion rather than the goal square in a 1st Grade Football team, he has continued to surprise and amaze his teamates with his rare ability to read the play and continue to consistently kick hauls of goals over a number of years, despite a wide range of opponents and teams attempting to nullify his involvement in each match.

He has played over 250 games in Sydney AFL, played in 2 premierships, kicked 500+ goals, and depending on who you ask was also the premiership captain of one of those flags.

Super's best trait is the fact he has absolutely zero ego and has never bought into any of the bull-@@@@@ that can often creep into other player's mindset and where they potentially begin to display an overstated sense of self... for proof of this, just look at his dress sense off the field... He definitely doesn't take himself too seriously...

This weekend will be an end of an era for the UNSW-ES Bulldogs Football Club and we will be definitely sad to say good-bye to Super, but hopefully the boys can finish off the year with a win, so we can all get together for a few 'froffies' to send Super off with the farewell he deserves and wants.

The day is also a past players day for the Bulldogs, so any old-timers, please come on down and cheer the boys on!

Is he a cyborg peanut? Is there anyone who you haven't played on?? I remember playing on him & keeping him to 8 goals. Is a nasty player just like you PK. Abbott will probably have a crowd of thousands to see him off, cant wait for you to stop playing PK. We will hold your send off in a telephone box with all your mates

            Good work Leigh

Congrats to Super. Most prolific full forward in Sydney since his onball days 14 years ago at Trumper.

An an old boy see you Saturday

He also played 107 games for Terrigal in the Central Coast AFL between 1990 AND 1995. He was the CCAFL leading goal kicker in 1991, CCAFL Best and Fairest Runner Up in 1993 and 1994 and played in the winning grand finals for Terrigal in 1990 and 1991 (I think - having this clarified).

Well, he's back again. Kicked 5 against Penrith in Div 1 on the weekend. I will show this thread to the Penrith fullback that was on him. He is a young first year AFL player and should be proud keeping him to just a handful.
