It shouldn't reflect on the club, but unfortunately with this high-profile person it does. When the incident happened, the Sydney Morning Herald, after ignoring our league all season, went to Peter Adams to get a comment. I hope it doesn't adversely affect Balmain, it was nothing to do with the Dockers.

18 people were arrested, one was publicly named while the other 17 will go to work or play their sport with no-one else knowing. Across Sydney, drugs were popped on Saturday and arrests made but the media remained silent. Such is the price of celebrity - and even when the big AFL dollars dried up, the recognition factor was still there.

And so it should be. The other 17 weren't given the privilage over the past decade to earn millions kicking a ball. You can't have the best of both worlds. No sympathy for the man.
I have a small bit of sympathy for these other 3 alledged players, who if named, will most certainly get a bad name if not ruined.
But then again if we're talking about 30 year olds+ then they're too old for any sympathy.

So Fletcher never earnt the right to become a league footballer? He was just given the privilige handed to him, what rot.

Yes footballers are well paid but the majority arent on mega money, compared to most in the banking, legal & insurance fields they are probably underpaid for the amount of scrutiny and sacrifice they have to make in a restriced time frame.

I completely disagree. They don't complain about fame when they jump in bed with models. Or when they recieve perks left right and centre. And on the flip side when they want to raise awareness about something. Fame comes with the gig, many of them love it, with that comes your scrutiny.
He got caught red handed, alledgedly, therefor should be shamed more than the other 17. That's cricket I'm afraid, you make your bed so lie in it.

Ken Oath, you obviously did not have the skill to have a career handed to you. You have no grasp on what these blokes go through. For the injuries they play with, the training they do, the scrutiny they face, in terms of the lesser players on the list are probably underpaid. Plenty of people get paid a lot more than what these blokes do and for half the effort and virtually no accountability

Do not disagfree with any of that BUT does it mean he has the right to besmirch the game, his team, his teamates, the volunteers or anyone else. No it does not. I don't care if he takes so many drugs that his brains fry just don't hurt the game any more. Retire and do it on someone elses watch
