One would assume Daniel Kenny's "business reasons" are genuine as he has done a superb job with the Kookas since arriving. One would have thought he'd have wanted to hang around after the massive improvement he made.

What was your experience with this Bassani fella Young Kanga?

Manly and Mac Uni are quite different clubs culture-wise so I guess time will tell. One thing for sure he is filling big shoes.

I hear North Shore is going to be the destination for the speedy flashy goal sneak for season 2010 to play his football. One the subject of Kenny. Kenny E-C did spend a preseason with ECE 2 seasons back but was advised by the football department that he should look at playing for Wollongong due to the travel time to BPR twice a week. K E-C was more than welcome to stay and had a lot of mates at the club (and still does) along with a big love for partner club west coast ealges but was advised that he could play closer to home if he did so desire upon moving from WA. So apperantly ECE are major poachers of players from inside the leauge but this clearly tells otherwise.

Should a coach pick his best 22 players? Or should it be based on where the player played their junior footy?

The ECE Grand Final team look to have about 9 players (from my knowledge) that played under 18's footy with Baulko/ECE...nearly 1/2 the starting team....including another 3 (Rogers included) that just missed out on the final cut.

Not a bad percentage of locals...

It will be a shame to loose Rogers if that's what he has decided to do. Quality player and a good club man as well, always willing to helpl out. However I'm sure he will be the first to tell you that opportunities didn't come readily to him in 2010, and as a consequence, he wasn't kicking the goals that he needed to to hold his spot. It's unfortunate when someone gets dropped for a final or a GF, but I hope that's not the only reason he's going. Someone has a story like that every year. It's how you react that defines what sort of character you are.

As I said, if he's decided to move on, I genuinely wish him the best of luck. If he's gone to North Shore, I just hope his memory is long enough to remember that he had a tough time under Graham as well, occasionally being used as a doormat...

Just because you poach them to the 18?s doesn?t make them LOCALS!!!!
            Here are the facts
            Imports ? 8 - Poached from SAFL teams ?7 - Real locals -6

Would help if you knew your players Gambler

Ahhh Doormat you seem to be short 1 player. 8+7+6 =s 21.

Seems a lot of your info is off the mark my fat friend including the Linsens. Unless that was a different set of brothers that i saw training down at C'Town the other night. Your efforts to poach them needs to lift a notch or two.

Can only see 4 out of 22 from rival safl clubs in the premiership team - probably below the average of every other side???

T Scholar from MacUni to Penno, good pickup for Kev, one of only 3 outside SFL clubs to play in Cats intra club game at Greystanes.
                  All the best to him.

Good to see the Kookas starting to see the benefits of their alliance with Penno.Given Eynaud's patchy history with the Kookas I imagine this isn't being taken too well......

These alliances are fine in theory but in practice the only one to benefit is the more senior club

dont believe rogers has decided anything yet and maybe lost to footbal due to disillusionment .... a shame... seems cricket maybe calling..... and believe there was at least three others as well as North Shore calling after he was dropped for the grand final despite playing all bar one

Ben are you a chance to play cricket for Australia?

EC forward line was pretty potent with Vlatko Dugmore etc - is that y you missed out?

Probably is given that everyone seems to be getting a go. Get a few wickets or runs on the weekend and he might be at the Gabba next week

The Hurricanes would push the Aussies these days.

Kev still welcome at the club anytime, Not sure what the perception is but he was well liked as a player and coach. Tim's decission was purely a case that he lived close and wanted to try out Premier Div, He will be back eventualy. Cant blame a young guy for striving. No negative talk around the club at all.
Once a Kooka always a Kooka.

Aliance was only 18's and was a resounding S%^T Fight and lessons have been learnt or you would hope so.
