The fact that a Div 2 club pays players is interesting in itself.

They'd be the only ones I would have thought.

Rumour has it that Parra offered a kid from a rival club $200 a game.

We've set up a good payment system here, solid pool for a win, and top 5 players, as voted by the coaching staff, share the spoils, 50% of pool BOG, 25% 2nd BOG, 15% 3rd, 5% 4th/5th, half the pool for a loss under 10 goals, can it for a hiding. Only had one loss over 60 points last year ( A first!) and the payment spread was even, although the youngest bloke in the squad cleaned up, to the point where his dad started charging rent and travel rates. $250 for a Best On, good coin, especially in Div 2, where players really shouldn't be paid I think.

From what I hear, Parra wish to pay all players a base rate of $50 a game, regardless of result. Maybe they are paying extra for some big guns, who knows? But with Leach, Scully, Sommers, Nottle & Parsons back to Town (Or for first time, I don't really care for the Moorebank/C'town argument currently engulfing this forum) and big Des off to Uni, it doesn't leave many of their top liners. Balz, boots still fit mate?

I like the way the Jets have done it. You get some cash if you have a good game, not just because of who you are.

Silly season my old china plate. Just getting excited for what can be referred to as the "Western Cup", what with most teams west of James Ruse Dr.

Actually mate if you have a good look at it - Auburn are East of James Ruse , ourselves Town and Camden are predominately south although SSW would be accurate u are definately NW not West so really only Parra and Penrith can claim to be west of it.

Bert, tassie here. I have no idea what Army guys you are talking about. I know a few army guys from Parramatta, but outside of them I know no others. I have been given names of other Army boys by Campbelltown Football club and asked to follow up with a call. As a person who has taken on the role I have it would be irresponsible of me not to follow up the number given to me. As for offering money you are way off the mark. I have never discussed money with any potential player so if they are telling you this then they are telling porkies. That job belongs to Buckets and our president. If you want further clarification then please feel free to email or call me. I'm not a hard person to get a hold off.

Tara and who ever else may be interested in why I am coaching. Unfortunately for Campbelltown the original person they had been chasing to coach was unable to do the job. Having joined the club as an assistant and having taken pre-season I was asked after the first training session this year if I could consider taking on the role. Sorting out work and coming to an agreement with me helping out with my kids sports on game days I have been able to squeeze, and I don't say squeeze lightly, taken on the job as first grade coach. As for the Parra boys coming across they wanted to test themselves at a higher level. Obviously they were happy with what I did last year as coach and were happy to come to Campbelltown. All bar Leachy had played at Campbelltown the previous year. Why wouldn't I entice them to Campbelltown. It's better to have them on our side then at another Premier Division club. All have first grade potential and to boot all are good club man. I don't feel bad that they are playing at Campbelltown as they were leaving Parramatta this year regardless.

If you have any further queries feel free to ask and I will give you an honest answer. Bert if your club has Army boys playing at your club and they are telling you they have been offered x amount from us then give them what they played for last year becaus we have offered nil.

                              Cheers

                              Tas
