You will find the club whilst losing players each year filled positions well enough to win three flags in a row. I am sure someone from the club will have stats on players who were in each GF winning side and loses of players each year.

You always lose a few to retirement (have lost a few each year for this reason), some move interstate( for work or family reasons), some move to other clubs ( Dugmore and rumoured other player from this years winning GF team offered scholarships which is in their best benefits to take up and no one begrudges that)

I still stand by my bet... SHE will beat the Lions in ladder position

Balmain will be tough with $$$ thrown out there and building a strong list, just hope all get paid properly.
If possible I would like to double it.

With the way things are going you wont have enough players to fill a half decent Div 1 team.

Have there been any signings so far? Or at least of NEAFL quality.

Also agree you guys could cover losses in the SFL, but the footy isnt that great so you can replace players a lot easier. Bit different when you step up to a real quality competition and have to find an extra quality 20 players.

Also harder being out in the Hills, it would no doubt be a bit easier for Syndey Uni with their close proximity to the city

One of our past players Ash Condon will be having a kick as a SHEagle this year, when fit could be one of the dominant rucks in the Premier Division but could make the step to NEAFL I reckon, although a massive step. Played at C'town a few years back. Good luck to him, top fella. Hardest part will be potential deployment with the RAAF during the season.

But sounds like a great signing, kudos. Does he live in the area?
He's still based in Newcastle but will split his time between up there and down here.

        Darren Currie!

Told us he played for West Adelaide, and from memory he told Parra that his old man played over 200 games for St.Kilda.
Not sure what he told the others........

Is Chivas having a kick again? Just got word he's been offered to play in the cashed up Ovens & King league on the border, flying him down on a weekly basis.

And before you ask for my source....this base has many secrets...

Doormat had him knocking back $350 a game at East Coast last year to take a bigger offer at Penno, if I remember correctly.

Guess if he got an attractive offer, including the Gulfstream, you'd be mad to knock it back. He's been very prominent at training so far.

              Double you are on...

I havent been down there much since winning the GF.. however have heard rumours of a few signings, some of NEAFL quality..

It is certainly going to be interesting with the step up.. how much of a gap well that is going to be interesting or how little we are unsure and no one will know until the first season is over.

Sydney Uni will no doubt find it easier with close proximity to the city.. they can also offer scholarships which are very hard to refuse and no one could blame anyone for taking them up..

However whilst the Eagles are based out way out west.. they have still managed year after year to build and build teams of competing and challenging for a grand finals year after year

Would be anyone's guess how the Sydney NEAFL teams will fare. Too hard to judge in the first year as you would think they would struggle somewhat getting 30-35 quality players at this level in 2012, but moving forward would improve as aspiring players would gravitate to these clubs. From a Sydney AFL point of view, you would guess that they will struggle in PD and D1 (SHE girls in D1 anyhow). SUS may be able to offer scholarships but I would imagine SHE's will be fairly cashed up. I have heard that a few NEAFL quality players arent interested in playing at that level and are happy to play as "amateurs" in PD, given less commitment is involved

It is a interesting one, but SHE and SUS will be representing sydney afl in Neafl. Will be pretty funny fixtures showing the shortened names of teams.

I think next season for both teams will be interesting and not much can be gauged from it and each season will see improvement. Hopefully the Neafl will make youngsters strive to jump up to next level and SHE and SUS can hopefully help bridge a gap to get more kids up to that next level.

The real questions is whether Hoop's mate Fevola will join him.

You'll be first at the gate with your old tattered leather autograph book Colesy, 3 to 1 on.

Great signing though.......shows Sydney footy is back on the up when we have former stars like this, Davis, Saddington, Luff, etc keen for a kick in Sydney, the $$$$ will help as well of course. If they manage to sign Fev, well, I'll go n watch the SHEagles run around. At Purser though.

Excellent signing, getting a bit carried away calling him a 'champion' though.
