Just wanted to congratulate Parramatta on their first season in Div 1. The game yesterday was one of the toughest I've played in - fair to say I'm pretty sore today. When we had got out to a 5 goal lead early in the 3rd after Parra lead by 4 goals in the first, most teams would have packed it in, but they kept coming all day. A credit to their coaches and leaders. Most of their squad is quite young and the club look to have a bright future ahead.

Penrith did very well too. It was also their first season in Div 1 and I think probably the highest grade that club has ever played.Just wanted to congratulate Parramatta on their first season in Div 1. Bear in mind that Parramatta is a former Premier Division club, having won a flag in that grade in the early 90s.Comment

Penrith have had a brilliant year and the sky could be the limit for them.......IF they were assisted properly.
If the AFL could find 10% a year of Israel Folau's contract to fund development in the Penrith District they'd get a much better return I feel.Comment

I think what it shows is there's not a huge amount of difference between the top end of Div 2 and Div 1, given that both Parra and Penrith made the finals this year, and Southern Power made the GF last year after winning Div 2 the year before. To be honest, you could make a strong case that the Penrith of 2011 was actually a stronger side too.
UTS also deserve some praise in winning two tough finals so far. I think they're a sneaky chance to knock off the Power as well.Comment
