Garry Burkinshaw back with the AFL

Garry has returned to the AFL fold in another capacity. He will no doubt do an excellent job. The AFL appointed 2 people to replace him in his former job.

Without saying too much, as I'm a nominee for the BDAFL board, the general concensus is that this is a huge positive for our league. Hopefully he will be able to drag the league back to the high standing it once had .

Massive coup for the Black Diamond. Congratulations to you all up there and congratulations to Slim. Much easier commute too.....

I watched him during the SFL finals out at BISP - he ran the show on his own, apart from his son and daughter who helped shift furniture around the arena for the finals presentation, and helped him give out the medals.
All this while the other SFL hotshots sat in the stand watching the work getting done, and sucking on energy drinks.

Three people to replace him ??????? Sounds about right.

It was ridiculous him doing that job by himself. He needed an assistant.

It wouldn't surprise me if the lack of support he received was one of the reasons he left.
