Really find it quite astounding to have the rep game played at 9.30 on Saturday morning.Played at Henson Park with the development game as cutain raiser and you could get a solid cerowd. An even better experience for the players would be to play as the GWS Geelong curtainraiser.
They are going to be transported to Skoda after the game for the aftermatch function and to watch the game anyway

It's surprising how much footy is actually on this weekend.

Or after the GWS game, you'd get a bit of a crowd sticking around. Wasted opportunity.

Would be a better story to tell years down the track as opposed to 'Yeah, we played Cairns in front of 9 people at Blacktown.........nearly 600 if you count the Mountains train that went past a few times'

Yes with the GWS game being an early start it would have been good to play as a twilight game and have a few more interested spectators.

I think the NEAFL Eastern rep team are playing prior to the GWS game.

May have to do with flights. I know the NEAFL fixtures against the Brisbane sides are played early so the AFL only have to pick up one night's accommodation. I agree with most though, if you are going to have the fixture have it central and at a reaonable hour so somebody can show up to watch.

                        NEAFL v Tas 10am

                        Geelong v bye 1340

They could've played the Sydney v Cairns game at say 1730, under lights, would've been great, I'd have stuck around afterwards for a watch.
