Again, a fresh start would be better than the impression of a fresh start. No clean break, no clear line of sight to a trouble free future.

I've been an advocate of starting a new club for awhile, knowing the current board would play as many games as possible. The board-in-waiting discussed it and decided against starting a new club.

Ultimately the AFL made the decision for us regardless of what was decided previously. The League are guiding us on this issue now so we gladly accept their guidance as they have the experience and powers to sort it out.

I had hoped that they would turn up to your information night...silly me again.

        False alarm it seems
Guernsey artwork, captains, venues and all the other items we're working through are because the AFL told us to get ready for 2014.

We were waiting until we had the keys to the place so to speak, but the AFL told us to start moving earlier. So we are.

Good luck to all involved I doubt many of us envy the job in front of you, however as passionate good people with the clubs best interest at heart lets hope and support your efforts. As the AFL have told you to get ready get ready the season will be upon you before you know it.

All the best Balmain AFC. Balmain should be playing in Balmain, proudly representing that community as they have for over 100 years.

And the issue of playing in Yellow and Black should be non-negotiable as it should have been to the idiots that changes the colours.

I think it is fair to say that without strong and long overdue leadership from the NSWAFL that this proud club will die very quickly. It would appear that there is a core of true Balmain football people who can make this happen and once you are on a roll and people sense the change is real then others will come out of the woodwork.

It would appear that the current members have done as much as they can to date, the ball is firmly in the court of the NSWAFL.

Time to step up to the plate NSWAFL whichever faceless man it is running the show now...

Advertising for a Senior coach on their Facebook page. Surely leaving it a bit late?

We haven't left it late Pekay, we've had formal talks with several individuals to take on the coaching role going back to Nov/Dec last year.

A couple of the guys were very close to signing but obviously none of them did so we're expanding our horizons. There was no point advertising while negotiations were continuing!

Pekay, you might be alright for the role to help a club on the brink get back to normal, what do you need apart from petrol money?

Also, it was on the sydneyafl.com.au site before fb - there's a link at the bottom of the post

Super Krill Oil, lots of it! No need for fuel money. I need body fuel!

I wasn't having a crack, honestly, just thought you'd have had all of that sorted previous to Christmas. Having said that, you do want to the right person to guide the club on the paddock. Looking forward to Round 3 though, hopefully it's at Henson, not a fan of Mahony.

How about some peptides instead of the krill oil?

I didn't think you were having a crack mate. We hoped to have it sorted by early Jan at the latest but it's been a bit tough.

Round 3 will likely be at Henson on a Sunday but I could be wrong...

The nutters have appeared to abandon the place but that could have been said anytime the last few years. We called for the egm two weeks ago and have heard nothing but crickets. The agm was due on 1/12 but there has been nothing.

We cant wait any longer, we are getting on with our preparations for 2014.
I'm hearing that the "YellowandBlack" family photos have been removed from the Sports Club. I thought they had ended up at the Sydney AFL History Society - perhaps they have.
But they are on the Facebook page too, looking for someone who can explain them.

Seems the family silver might be slowly getting transferred to the new owners.
Balmain is advertising for a coach and D Hall is the contact point - he has some experience that will be helpful as the club seeks to rebuild.

                        Go you Tiges !

JB, apparently the photos are at the history society thanks to the efforts of the late, great Bill Carey. He had the foresight and wisdom to have the photos rescued and dodge a quick trip to the bin.

He single handedly saved the history of a club.

Hally is doing a great job getting new people involved and old faces back. We're getting good numbers to training and the atmosphere is the best it's been in years.
