So as we are just over half way through the 2015 season who takes the 10th Premier Division spot next year?

I wouldn't think there's any risk of relegation. With 10 teams it may have been a chance, but Campbelltown pulling out should make the remaining 9 teams safe.
If anyone's going up, then at least based on on-field form, Balmain would have to be front-runners - a remarkable turnaround considering it's only been 2 years since they were relegated.

Yeh surely balmain go up. But is it a good look having both them and Uni having the same home ground? Guess it doesn't make a difference.
Would mac uni ever be in line for a spot? Their ground is always @@@@ though.

Anyone going up is a big "if". There's got to be a strong possibility that we'll have a 9-team Premier Division again next season.

Surely it should be apparent to all that with Sydney Uni NEAFL team and the Swans and GWS top-ups ripping the guts out of top end local talent (and before you get your knickers wet The Student this is not a dig at your beloved club just a fact) in the SFL there is just not enough talent for a 10 team SFL comp
An 8 team comp based on the old format - three teams all playing together each week - with promotion and relegation (based on the team coming up meeting certain conditions) would seem the best result to me.
So based on that, you'd have Baulko, Sydney Uni, North Shore, Penno, Manly, UTS, St George with UNSW or Wests to drop down.
You could then have an 8 or 10 team two grade comp below - that could have Wests/UNSW, Balmain, Sydney Uni, Parramatta, Moorebank, Penrith, Camden/Campbelltown, Mac Uni, Maroubra plus AN Other
Then have 3 10 team one grade comps below plus 2nd Div U19s and the womenComment

In the long run the AFL need to have a team from Western Sydney in Prem Div if they are serious about growing the sport in this city. They should have a 5 year plan to get another club from Parramatta or anywhere further west up in the top comp. Give somewhere for the better players to aim for. Whether that is Parra, Camden, or Blacktown who knows but they need to expand their base rather than just keep the inner suburbs and coastal clubs at the top. It would be easy to do if they had the will to do it.Comment
