    Football on ice

As if the thunderstorm at the Swans v West Coast was enough for one weekend, it was nothing compared to the hailstorm at the prelim final this afternoon. The conditions were more suited to Torvill and Dean than footballers.
I'll do my article for the week later tonight, but I had my digital camera at the game today; and here's a few pics I took - you won't often see scenes like this at the footy.

Anyway, St George are through to the grand final - after being in the prelim final but not making it through for the last few years, they'll be celebrating tonight.

The hail was pretty bad here at Lugarno so I can only imagine what it was like at HP.

Congrats to St George - our Leader will be in a nice mood on Tuesday - we've got the Dragons in the NRL finals, Crows in the SFL under 18 and Seniors GF

We got hail and a fair bit of it in North Bondi. Haven't checked to see if the car survived yet...

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

the hail certainly made 4 interesting footy... i thought i was in the snowy mountains there for a while..the henson park hotel looked more appealing than the footy at one stage

Does anyone ever go outside during Vancouver's winter? From heated garage to heated carpark to heated sports arena. Soft!

JS, i lived in Vancouver for a year and played Gaelic Footy in the snow, it was fun for about 2 minutes then it got very ordinary.

Van only has 1 or 2 major snowfalls a winter.

Live in Toronto or Montreal and you'll get a different story.

Snow is pretty in postcards. But in big cities, it sucks big time.

i was at a friends house yesterday eating chili and going through photos and yes it does snow here in van city, but not often. it did a week before i got here.

but leave the lower mainland and its way different.

our winters leave the rest of canada extremely jealous. we dont have to plug the car in overnight.

we just go to grouse mountain for our fix of snow. or whistler.

                      cheers
