Predictions: -ECE by 15 goals. I hear they have recruited very well indeed and are top 4 certainties. Balmain may have a long season.
- Wests by 15+ goals. Wollongong just cant win this one (being their first year up a division) and must struggle against a powerhouse Wests unit. Wests are top 4 certainties too.
- Norths by 3 goals. I hear Norths are a few down on last year and Penno have picked up a few but is it enough to bridge the gap?
- UNSW by 3 goals. I hear St George have lost a few though their juniors are always providing lots of depth. Luffy will fire up a UNSW side.
Top 4 should be interesting predicting early. ECE and Wests will have heads rolling if both dont make it. Norths should be there and maybe Penno. Whats the mail????

That seems to be everyone's mail from what you read on here. East Coast have got a reputation for recruiting reasonably well and still just falling short of the top 4. Wests seem to have steadily rebuilt over the past few seasons. Let's hope the season isn't quite as predictable as what people are saying. By the looks of things the only close game may be Penno and North Shore.

Wollongong coming into the SydneyAFL seems to me like a softening up for a NSW State League. Whilst the SydneyAFL clubs might think it's getter bigger and stronger, really it's just a step closer to having a team in Goulburn- then to the ACT and a State League with less teams in a smaller competition!

The new $20 million dollar 10,000 seat venue at Blacktown when completed will be ready made for NSW State League too! I'm sure the State government and the AFL will want a NSW AFL State League and real use for their investment not 10,000 empty seats from March-Sept.

as a Blacktown local,ive been waiting for years for a decent footy field in the district.the Bombers junior ground in Quakers Hill wasnt too bad,until a synthetic cricket pitch was installed,making it too risky to conduct senior training there,so we had to move to Richmond both nights,very disappointing,as we dont get to help out juniors there.so it comes as no surprise that this new fangled stadium will have a turf pitch in the guts.back to square one again,no ground for off season-summer use. the AFL were also pushing for a new entity for the Premier League to play out of the Blacktown-Penrith area by 2007-08,but its almost a dead issue now, considering ive lost 25 top line players to opposition or interstate,and 10-15 more on deployment,which representa a good chunk of what wouldve been a decent team.

Do you think this proposal shall go ahead Pekay? What sides shall play out of it if they do. Who do you play for. 25 players is a huge loss. Are youassociated with the army or defence force?

it still may go ahead,but until my club finds its feet again we wont support it.our President resigned in Jan/Feb this year to concentrate on the new entity,which was a conflict of interest in my opinion,and eventually saw the club in a situation where the only means of survival was to drop a division.they will have to throw HEAPS of cash out here and Penrith also,to at least show the local community that AFL is serious about the west of sydney.

First result of the season, and Pennant Hills have upset North Shore by 41 points - final scores Penno 13.15 (93) North Shore 7.10 (52).
Highlight of the game was a screamer of a mark from Anthony Brawn just before quarter time, which he followed up by playing on and goaling to give the Demons the lead, which they held for the rest of the day.

Penrith had their second win in two years today when they accounted for a very inept Macquarie Uni at Dukes Oval.

Penrith increased their lead at every change finally running out convincing 68 point winners.

Coach Rick Allen addressed the boys in the middle of Dukes Oval saying it was a team effort that allowed the win to happen.

Penrith currently sit in 3rd position and next week will take on Parramatta in the local derby at Dukes Oval. This promises to be a big day of AFL Football in the City of Penrith with the Greater West Power also to make their debut into competitive Under 18 football.

Times are:
10am: Greater West v Parramatta
12noon: Penrith v Parramatta
2pm: Penrith v Parramatta
