    Sydney AFL Fixture Changes

Shearer's already mentioned this on the Henson Park thread, but the St George v UNSW-ES game on Sunday has been moved to Henson Park - that move was confirmed after I'd already submitted my preview article. Anyone who's planning to go to that game (I'm going, and I'll bring the camera and get some pics for next week's report), take note. This match will also be next Friday's Fox Footy game.

Also, the Sydney AFL website has uploaded the premier division draw, but has the East Coast v Balmain game on Sunday at Roger Sheeran. Is that correct?

    No it's not ....

    We discovered that yesterday too.

For months now, we have been allocated Alan Davidson Oval as our home ground and apart from any that are transferred to Henson Park as the weekly Match of the Round, all East Coast home games will be played at Alan Davidson Oval, Sydney Park Road in Alexandria.

Western Suburbs therefore will have more games in the second half of the season.

The 3 Fox Footy "Match of the Rounds' under lights that are in the first half of the season are as follows:

Earlier games yet to be finalised.

It will be great to see as many people from the clubs that are playing and other clubs support the games under lights at Henson Park.

Under light would be great to play. Where will the games be held for the night games. Not many ovals in sydney with afl sticks on them have the facilities with great lighting!

The lights on Saturday at Henson were impressive. Much better than Village Green which should be banned from night fixtures completely.

It could be related to the Swans game; although the North Shore v Wollongong game at Gore Hill will still be played at 2pm.
I notice in the draw the return game at North Dalton in round 12 is on a Saturday afternoon with the Swans playing at the SCG that night. That will be a very tight schedule to get from the Gong to the SCG - I wouldn't be surprised if that game gets moved forward.

The main reason for the game being brought forward is due to Pennant Hills' affiliation with Melbourne.
The earlier start will allow the Penno players and officials to get to the SCG in time for things such as Presidents Dinner, Pre game warm ups and breifings which I beleive the Penno coaches will attend etc.
Pennant Hills requested this time change for these reasons so unless other clubs make a similar request for similar reason I don't think other times will be changed.

On the topic of fixtures, I noticed that division 1 have two sides most weeks with a bye. Is it a lack of umpires thing? If not, I would have thought the two sides could play each other and any disgressions at the end of the season in games each team has played can be tweaked on the final weekend. Any one know the reason????

The draw was left unchanged because NW Jets had to withdraw late in the piece. Clubs had already committed to things like social functions, players had scheduled holidays etc based on the original draw.

Guys, I'll go. Both places are minutes from my house.

Just tell me where the game is and I'll come.

Anyone else in? Benny_w? Beaussie, how about you bring your Sherrins along mate?ocal footy is pretty good to watch. And is great for destitute broke people like us two.

It was pretty fun last weekend mate. We even got to take off the goalposts and put them in the storage area.
