The Magpie midfield looks totally awesome and will be hard to beat all year.
You can pretty much mark the top three between the Dees, Maggies and Eagles with the 'Dogs, Bombers and Crows to fight out 4th spot. Early call but it is very much heading in that direction.
The St George team I watched a few weeks ago against Balmain are nowhere near a finals team ... the standard of that match was similar to an average SFA game of a few years ago. I expect Wollongong to beat both sides comfortably.

I'm not sure whether Rafters has been down there but the Goanna's seem to have really dropped away PK. The Rams beat them easily in their first game and they got a hammering in both grades against Manly on the weekend in their second.
By the looks of things they've lost a number of players, only Balzan and Page really stood out as quality against Penrith.
Goannas are just going through a few growing pains ... alot of senior players that have been at the club for years have moved on / retired. At least they have an under 18 team again in the region - will be a few years til their 18s becomes a premiership force but it looks pretty good at the lower levels of the junior club with some quality people involved in coaching/mentoring the young lizards.
Fair comment Shearer ... I should have put in a disclaimer on my comment saying that the side on that day would struggle to feature in 2005 finals action without knowing calibre of players to come into the reckoning. I went over to the 3/4 time huddle & couldn't believe how young the playing group was (or how old I have become!) ... hope they can develop over the next few years & not get influenced by wine, women & song.
