What has happened to UNSW, round 1 they looked the goods, and have just fallen away since. North's are looking the goods again. Poor Balmain will yet again have another hard game. They havent had the easiest of runs.

The lighting at Henson Park Looks great.

To update the results that I wasn't able to get hold of last night when I wrote the report:

      First Division Seniors:
      Macquarie Uni 14.11 (95) d Holroyd-Parramatta 11.16 (82)
      Manly-Warringah 20.12 (132) d South-West Sydney 7.7 (49)
      First Division Reserves:
      Macquarie Uni 14.10 (94) d Holroyd-Parramatta 8.4 (52)
      Manly-Warringah 21.8 (134) d South-West Sydney 2.4 (16)
      Under 18s Northern:
      Balmain 31.27 (213) d Holroyd-Parramatta 0.0 (0)

Some wildly lopsided under-18s games. Of the 6 games played, 3 of them had a team failing to score while another had a team scoring only 1 point.
Fortunately after the geographical divisions are played out, teams will be re-seeded into seperate competitions for the remainder of the season which should hopefully reduce these blowouts.

Do you write the report for the Sydney League each week?
What club do you play for?

Yep, I do the report on here and also do the preview article in the Record.
I don't play - my completely undistinguished career in was played out in Bendigo Juniors and ended many years ago, hampered throughout by a lack of ability and cut short by a dodgy knee.

Thats no good. Where do you print the record from. For the last 2 weeks i havent been able to print it off the Sydney AFL website.

Who do you think shall win the Grand Final in Premier this year, Wooden Spoon, Phelan Medal, Goal kicking. For both 1st grade and 2nd grade.

Ending my playing days was a mercy-killing. We all have different talents, but playing was never one of mine. It's all good - I'm perfectly happy on the other side of the fence.
They've had a few technical problems on the Sydney AFL website - they're working on them, but it can be a bit frustrating. I kept getting a "you are not authorised" message when I tried to download the front cover last weekend. My article downloaded OK, but the team lists were from round 2. Hopefully they'll get them fixed soon - keep trying.

Still a long way to go, but at this stage Wests looks the team to beat in seniors and East Coast in reserves look unbeatable.
Hard to pick the Phelan Medal so early, but Marty Brewster's name comes up in the best players every week so he'd have to be polling well. Laine Spencer for Penno looks like the forward to catch; and for the wooden spoon I'd tip Campbelltown in both grades but Balmain have been struggling the last couple of weeks.

Good tips i would throw into the mix,

                Gambale ( Wests)
                Firth ( Wollongong)
                Burnett ( Wollongong)
                B Howarth ( Penno)
                Robinson ( ECE)
                Vlatko (ECE)
                Spencer ( Penno)

I dont think anyone shall challenge Spencer for the goal kicking and will kick 100 this year, the way Pennant hills are playing
