    Name for leading goalkicker award?

Akin to the Coleman medal do we have a name for Sydney AFL leading goalkicker each year?

    Any suggestions?

I would recommend that Hogarth Medal be considered for SFA given the magnitude of goals he has kicked over the years in that comp.

I remember a few years back the NSWAFL used to have a list of the winners each year published in the yearbook. Any standout kickers ... perhaps the Ruskulic Medal from East Sydney??

Did the run in 1.55:33 coming in 2906th position out of 5894 entrants - so top 50% ... achieved my goal of beating Plugger's 2.06 time in 1999.

Pending selection, I will be making a return to sydney footy this weekend but not with the Goannas.

Well done on achieving your goal. What sort of training did you do, to train for such an event? Who shall you be playing for this year?

I started over the Easter weekend - started off with short 5km runs before gradually building up in both length & speed. The last 4 weeks I had been running approx 40-50km/week - did the 21.1km course twice before the event ... yes I know its hard to believe that I actually did it too!

Will be playing footy the rest of the season with the Lions in Wollongong - a very well run organisation with a very good culture & most importantly very good people. Looking forward to assisting them where possible as they continue to evolve.

How many times a week would you run? Are you talking Easter weekend last year, or this year? What grade do you think you shall play for wollongong, and what position?

At least 3 runs a week. Only since Easter this year. Happy to play in ressies (but doesn't everyone strive for senior selection?). As for position - its up to the selectors - rover, centre, wing or on one of the flanks perhaps?

You would have to be one of the biggest rovers going around wouldnt you hehe! I thought you would have wanted to go up forward and kick bags of goals?

Who wouldn't want to do that ... ability & age may restrict that. Basically just happy to have a run around & enjoy playing the game I love

Rafters, why not the goanna's this year?? Are you living down the Gong way?? Do you know many people from the club?? I reckon they could use a little more height in the 1s, as all teams could.

Virtually all of my mates have retired or moved on from the club since I have been up in Cairns. I probably know more people (players & oficials) at Wollongong than at most other Sydney clubs, excluding probably Wests. I reckon I even know more umpies going around than players at other clubs.

Living in Sydney but doing alot of work around Australia setting up a network of accounting firms Accountants R Us which will be using a 1300 TAXMAN phone number - launching in July in Sydney before nationally by xmas.
