    AFL Recreational Footy

    Gday gang,

Just wondering if anyone is a part of or heard of any AFL Recreational Footy comps going on around Sydney. My wife and I live near Kellyville and would love to join or create a team in a nearby comp.

If anyone knows anything that would be great!

    Ta,
    Matt

Div 2 isnt all that bad.. teams like Norwest and Syd Uni have some decent players... I wouldnt call it recreational either... there are a few old fellas out there ready to kill someone!

          G'day Matt,

How 'recreational' are you talking? I've got a friend who plays in a mixed AFL comp where it's kind of like netball in that you can't run with the ball. It's real beginners stuff but allegedly pretty fun. Let me know if you want details.

              Gday mate,

I'm only 25 (in the prime of my life!).
I would love to play "real" footy on the weekends but my wife is keen to try the recreational footy that has just been introduced.

If I don't get to play weekend footy this year, definately next year. Need to build my fitness up. I have some height, 6 foot 3 (193cm) and 80kg, so tall and pretty lean. Used to play full foward for school footy but damaged a shoulder when I played about 5 years ago. The shoulder is right to go again!

The closest team for you to play with then would be Norwest Jets, or Parramatta

Pekay is from the Jets arent you Pekay?

                  Yeah,

Pekay has gotten in touch with me re NorWest. They are pretty full this year as they have gone down to one team. Perhaps next year though!

Dude, i live near Kellyville as well, and do not play for Norwest. They are the other side of the Richmond Air Base and woud be way too far to travel to get a kick. Keep it local at East Coast or Penno.. I dont think the Eagles would be too good as apparently kids had to go to Parra just to get a kick.
But Norwest isnt like the Norwest business area, its way out past westyville. Its not the asshole of the univers, but you can see it from there.

I am happy just to have a kick and have a game with whoever it may be!

With the new AFL grounds being opened next year on corner of commercial / Withers Rd in Rouse Hill, does anyone know which team may be based there? I was thinking it may be the East Coast Eagles.

Anycase, I'll get my fitness up and fire up for season 2006!
