With the new AFL grounds being opened next year on corner of commercial / Withers Rd in Rouse Hill, does anyone know which team may be based there? I was thinking it may be the East Coast Eagles.

Anycase, I'll get my fitness up and fire up for season 2006!
Mate that got knocked backed as an AFL ground!

The ground is nearly completed!! I went for a walk past last week. The clubhouse has just been completed! There are 2 ovals there with lighting...definately will be used.

Yeah but answer me this, is there AFL gold posts there? How long have you lived out that way for? Im not sure of what the ground looks like but i know thats why ECE had to find other premises to play and train as they didnt get that ground through the Baulkham Hills council. Im sure it is going to be used for 1st grade cricket the main oval!

The grounds have not been opened yet. I am a teacher in the local area and we had info from the council 2 weeks ago that the grounds will be used for Auskick in winter and by an Sydney AFL club (they did not mention who).

Yes, it will be used for cricket in summer and AFL in winter like most grounds.

Well i hope it does, if it does i would say the kellyville side, think they wear collingwood colours! Would be great to see. That area shall have plenty of growth and would be a great venue!

Does it have a good club house?

From the fence, the clubhouse looks of reasonable size. The lighting of the grounds are fabulous!!

It would be great to get the Eagles playing out of there or another local Sydney AFL side. I'd hate to see Collingwood colours gracing the grass though!

As a point of clarification, the sporting area being referred to in Commercial Road which is nearly completed, is not the parcel of land identified for the East Coast Eagles. These grounds are on the site of the former Kellyville Riding Club and are for sports other than AFL.

The NSWAFL, East Coast Eagles, Kellyville Magpies and NSW Cricket are still very much in discussion with Council over the site directly across the road where the Motorcross track and Club were housed.

This land will be developed as an oval suitable for AFL and cricket. The successful occupants are still to be announced.

Mate, the ground has been developed and is close to being completed. Definately an oval shape! Cricket in summer, AFL in winter.

Matt i think you have a lot to learn about Sydney AFL and councils, they work together! AFL shall have about a 30% chance of getting the venue id say!

                        Question for Oscar.

Have ECE considered playing some home games at Alan Davidon at night?.Ive driven past the ground a few times at night and it has sensational lighting?

Daylight only for Alan Davidson, Shearer. No application was made for night footy.

Judging by the Eagles' form under lights at the two Henson Park night matches, that was probably a good decision!!

Matt 79 Suggest you re read what I wrote earlier.

Mighty Swans. Have no idea what you mean.

Oscar, i meant to write Sydney AFL and sydney councils dont work together, ie in sydney they support and offer Rugby better venues than AFL.
