    More ECE Recruits!

word on the street at the peanut factory is:

    1. Garner sacked last week after addressing players prior to training.

    2. UNSW-ES & Wests were Favourites to pick him up

    3. ECE have thrown some good coin Garners way and have picked him up.

    4. Along with Garner.... Loopy & Parker have gone to ECE for $$

    5. Guess there is a new coach at St George

    6. Dont miss the ECE v St George Game Round 14 Saturday July 23rd at Alan Davidson

Maybe Shearer may be able to shed some light on the new Senior Coach at St George and whether they will also need to appoint new coaches in some of the other grades.

It will obviously help out with our depth which will also be boosted by the return of a number of injured players over the next few weeks. This could be seen as the upside of only playing 1 game in 4 weeks, it will allow some niggling injuries to heal and let a number of longer term injured players return together.
Looks like there might be some long nights at the selection table coming up.

Surely this is the biggest news in footy this week... will it be enough to get the eagles fired up for the second half of the season?

Since this has all just happened, how is it that you have all the info peanut... especially in regards to $$$'s - I wouldn't think that players changing clubs halfway through the season would be in a very strong position to negotiate... and if what all the informed red and white posters say is true... East Coast must not have many cheques left in the book....

It has always been said by those st the crows that "St George don't pay players" so maybe they are all on a pie and a coke after the game.

It will be interesting to see how these guys fit into an eagles line up that is reportedly not "gelling" as they should be.

Looking at the eagles draw, they will have a few weeks to get to know the club/coach/team since the eagles have balmain, then the bye then the weekend off for rep games... plenty of time there to get to know the guys.

I'll be looking on with great interest.

I can confirm that Glenn Garner, Troy Parker and Jason Coulloupas will play the remainder of the season with East Coast. Given that clearances are granted, which we understand will be the case.

The Eagles website will make a formal announcement once all is in order.

                More ECE Recruits!

New coach is Todd Dalton who coached the 18's premiership side last year. Played with the club since 1989 his brother Muscles still plays seniors.

There father Dale played for the club(won a Phelan Medal in 1977) and coached seniors & 19's at St George.

The club made a tough decision to let Glenn go but although we have lost these 3 players there should be a few more who will now come back to the club.

There will be no need wither to replace lower grade coaches. The club is looking forward to the rest of the year.

I'm sure Scott Gibson would be interested if he saw your unsolicited statement Shearer.

                  1. Firstly the amount in question is way overstated.

                  2. Secondly when someone is a lawyer and they are brought to Sydney to practice law, then as all readers of this Forum would know, business always takes precedence over football activities. No matter how much one wants to play.

                    Shearer

Can you let us know who are the players coming back to lift the Crows now that we are looking forward to the rest of the year?

Well done Shearer, understand that it must have been a difficult few days but that post was out of character for you.
Word coming from the players that came back from the Rep game was that on top of the 3 players that have come to East Coast Ryan Underwood has also left and gone to UNSW/ES. I don't mean to make the wek any worse than it alreay has been but can you confirm or deny this.

Unfortunately a few clubs have contacted Ryan and are trying very hard to entice him over with $$$. Of those clubs UNSW have been the most aggressive but the club is hoping that Ryan will stay.

I am also interested to know who are the players returning to the mighty St George Crows, and more importantly why they haven't been there from the start of the year. After narrowly losing a GF you would imagine any player half fair dinkum would be looking forward to the chance to go one better in 2005.

What does Todd Dalton bring to the Position that Garner could not?

Maybe shearer can give us a logical explanation?

I for one hope St George are not heading at becoming just a social football club, as seems to be a popular opinion.

Seems to be a lot of talk about $$$.

Obviously quite a few clubs will talk to these guys and maybe they will offer them some money! They would not even be talking to clubs or on the market if they were happy with the decision or direction St George are now heading.

Maybe you should not overlook or criticise what may just be loyalty.

Hopefully the Crows can keep Ryan Underwood otherwise with 3 big losses already unfortunately the rest of the season looks bleek.
