    Balmain

There seems to be a big turn around with the results of Balmain. Has anyone seen them play recently? Have they picked up new recruits?

No recruits to speak of, and they actually lost a player or two. Just a good run of injuries and everyone starting to gel.

Last time I saw Balmain, when they played St George at Olds Park, they jumped the Crows early then the Crows fought back to take the lead before Balmain steadied to win by a point.
They've got some good young players there; and stuck to their guns even after copping some floggings earlier in the year. I didn't see either of their matches against Penno or Wests, but they were more than competitive in both of them; and if they can maintain form like that the Tigers would probably fancy their chances of knocking off North Shore this week. I've tipped North Shore in my article and I will again when we do the tips later this week, but I'm expecting Balmain to put up a real fight.

Was at Balmain Wests on Sunday and they really let Wests off the hook. I had to go 10 mins to the last and the Tigers were 2 goals up at that stage and had really played a lot more direct purposeful footy for most of the day and a drop off in the last 15 mins cost them the game.

Thanks for that Floppinab. Unfortunately the Sydney AFL site has the quarter by quarter scores for Wests for that game but not for Balmain (same with ECE v Wollongong); so the final scores may not have told the full story of the game.
Would have been the boilover of the season if Balmain had won.
