    Finals weekend

So Pekay - what happened to the Jets - did you guys get the wobbles ?

    What about Premier Divi ?
Uni vs Norths - Norths seem to be getting it together at the right time and must be a threat.
Is Tempo playing ? Anyone know. Not sure who Norths have that could hold him.

Wests v Penno. I'll have to watch the game on Fox. Heard there was a big decision that could have changed the game. Hopefully the camera boys got it.
Is Withers playing ? If someone keeps him quiet, Penno will be a good option, same applies to holding Spencer for Penno?

Spose they'll be 2 good days this weekend at Hensen. Hope the ground is in descent shape - the jets had a game their last w/end.

Big surprise to see the Jets go down in the second semi final - hopefully they can turn it around this week against the Bulldogs.
    Go Jets, I'm still on.

As for the decision that changed the game at Ern Holmes, yes there was one made, yes it did change the momentum of the match, however, the ball was 100m away so I don't know if the cameras picked it up.
Was told Andrew Eurell did a great job of making the umpire see minor contact, but that was the only side of the story I got.

Wests have a lot of injuries ahead of the second semi final, with Medair Kassem the latest to join the list, however up to six players could return for the match. Interesting to see if they will be underdone, although it didn't seem to affect them when placed in a similar situation against the Eagles a few weeks ago.
Don't know if Withers will play, but he has only missed one with a hammy so must be doubtful.

However, both matches should be crackers with four very good teams doing battle.
I'm looking forward to it, and am tipping Pennant Hills by eight points and UNSWES by 11 points.

So Wests are minor premiers! Been awhile since that happened.
Maybe now they can become the Sydney Magpies?

The scoreboard at Wagener already calls them Sydney Magpies...

I'll tip Wests this week, it'd be a huge turnaround in a week for Penno to get up. Even if Wests have a few out, I can't see it being enough.
For the other one, North Shore have played some much better footy in the last few weeks - I'll tip them this week, even though UNSW-ES are their bogey team.
As for Scooped's question about the state of Henson Park, I doubt it would have been chopped up much, and it's had a week to recover. I'd be surprised if the ground was anything less than top condition.

fair to say we didnt show up ready to play, full credit to Uni Blues, they played to the conditions better and were first to the aggot.having said that,i would prefer to lose that one than one a week later,we were a bit complacent going into the game, always expecting a hard game, but didnt use the 4-5 goal breeze the way we should've.trained the house down all week, a change or two made,we are hungry as to atone for last weeks loss.

odgers suspended 1 week for headbutting an 18 year old.

                umpire charge was for misconduct...

why not striking or headbutting which would have seen him straight to the tribunal?

the umpire who booked him was less than 2m away and he saw the hole thing. umpire is also an AFL umpire....

ive seen the umpire in action at swans games... would he report barry hall for misconduct if he layed a liverpool kiss on an oppenent in a game broadcast australia wide? wouldnt think so... would have to be striking????

my word is kassem definately out and withers to return with of course odgy gone for a week. tassie also to return for maggies before coaching the magoos v penno on sunday.

penno... brawn & richardson both went off in last weeks game and shouldnt get up while back pocket clarke no good again

                big game of footy...

                lets get excited!!!

Good luck for the weekend Pete. I wont be there this week so let me know how you go.

For those that wernt there last week the conditions were a bit blustery buts that not unusual at Kelso. Also with the size of the ground the Jets probably didnt use it to their advantage. The first half was a very laclustre effort but they turned it around in the second half. The hard thing is the Uni has all three sides playing finals so there is a big pool of players trying their best to play. Not to mention they play a running game becuase of generally good fitness levels.

Whilst the jets came out and played a lot better after 1/2 time they occasionally let themselves down by playing dumb footy. The last quarter they were all over Sydney Uni but just couldnt peg them back.

Hopefully this week they will show up ready to go from the start (10am is a killer) and play team footy straight away.

Oh yeah the umps didnt help when advantage was disallowed costing a goal.

Just saw the game from last week on fox. Camera didin't catch the incident prior to the report, just showed odgy getting marched, with young widma giving him a fair amount of lip for the journey. Pannell was the umpire, prob too scared odgy would get him if the report was worse..

Wests are through to the big one, Penno get another shot next week against North Shore.
I was impressed by Wests yesterday - not a particularly tall side, but they had numbers at the ball all day. If the Magpies play anywhere near that standard in the grand final, then I can't see either Penno or North Shore getting anywhere near them.

Word is Odgers was offered one game if he took the early plea and naturally he did. I do not know how structured the tribunal is for those who are offered early pleas and those who must face the music. Any input???

Danny Stevens was reported for kicking by the boundary umpire. This should be very interesting. The kangaroo court (also known as the tribunal) will have a hairy one to decide on. Was there any camera footage of the incident???? Generally I would think any report for this nature is "automatic suspension".

Penno were disgraceful on the weekend v wests. Wests just seemed to have too much run, and as a result (like you said NL) numbers at the ball. But surely penno is better than that?!? They only lost 2 games all year, either they were very lucky all year or they were seriuosly out of form on sat. Still, full credit to wests, they held them and then did as they pleased all over the ground.

Norths i think were a little lucky early on, the decision making of some of the UNSW/EASTS boys was apalling. But norths still seemed in control all day.

On form you would have to assume a norths v. wests GF in two weeks. BUT... as the saying goes a week is a long time in footy. Next weekend should see another pearler of a game, How good is finals footy!!
