I have a comment, not a discussion, on the article only ..

    This quote :
and perhaps the most surprising stat in this table is the steady consistency of Sydney over the last decade to come in fourth. It rather makes a lie of the club's historical gripes during that period about being disadvantaged or why it needs greater assistance with drafting concessions to be competitive?
Yes, the table is from the last decade - Conveniently missing our wooden spoons of 1992, 1993 and 1994 part of which was losing 27 games in a row ... Nice touch to then question the concessions and assistance. The fact that we got some (of each) has seen us getting competitive.

Overall, since inception, Sydney (SMFC/SS) has played 2115 games, winning 965 ... The wobbles have played 2223 winning 1343...

Really, pick any 10 year period and put a slant on it ... Investigative reporting my a..e

Sure it's selective. I was very surprised though. I never would have put us top 4 if you had asked me about the last 10 years.

According to these stats even the worst performing club Freo has averaged 9 wins a season

It's fine in theory to say we were more successful than Adelaide, but they won 2 premierships...surely a more accurate measurement of ultimate success
