BigFooty.com bad for your health?

I've recently been reading stuff on the BigFooty boards as part of my attempt to deal with post-September footy withdrawal.

Man, there is some venom over there let me tell you.

Does anyone else read or post over there?

A couple of times I've almost submitted a post, but my motivation is usually that I want to respond to the idiocy of some of the comments that are made (eg. in relation to "flooding").

When I arrived on there in 2003 it was quite alright, but the place has gone downhill in a big way since. Posters being abusive or making moronic, ignorant and blatantly ill-informed comments.

Mind you in all the years of being on Internet forums, I've seen some good ones and downright crap ones. I guess it all comes down to the way the forums are run.

I'm gonna use Big Footy during the summer to amuse myself pissing off St Kilda supporters.

I love bigfooty. I love the rivalry that exists in there between clubs, as well as the idiocy that exists in some people. Swans supporters on that site are generally quiet, but strike when something goes our way, where as some of the saints and weagles supporters are so loud and up themselves that when lose, its priceless to hear the things they have to say.

I think its important to hear the opinion of what others think of our club, regardless of whether they know what they are talking about.

I agree. Yes,you have your complete and utter nobs on BF, but when you register you pretty much know what you are going to be in for. I'm pretty straight from the hip in my thoughts on BF, and am often fair-minded and critical enough of the Swans and footbal in Sydney that people tend to react OK to most of what I have to say (the soccer board aside ). By being generally well-mannered and fair, you get noticed pretty quickly on Big Footy. There are some pretty decent posters there including Powerstuff who is on here as well). Not everyone on BF is a complete idiot. Alot of the discussions can be interesting (NB the ones with the Irish 'supporters' about the upcoming-IR series.)

In many respects I get better received on Big Footy than here.

BigFooty is the funniest place.

I bite every now and again. Have a go at people's grammar and spelling sometimes just to get a reaction too. Pissing off eddiesmith is fun too.

Idid that a few times in here when I first joined, but then I thought, hold on we're all on the same side here.
