    "superstar" or just good...

Do you think that the term "superstar" is bandied around too easily? So often we hear of a good player being referred to as a "superstar". I believe that the superstar tag should be reserved for the elite of the competition.

    What do you think?

Are you suggesting Judd should be known as "Godspell"?

Certainly not Jesus H Chris.......isn't than Gary Junior?

          According to dictionary.com
          1. A widely acclaimed star, as in movies or sports, who has great popular appeal.
          2. One that is extremely popular or prominent or that is a major attraction.

          (Thanks Go Swannie14.......)

According to this definition, it's nothing about talent or ability but pulling power.....

So, nominations for Superstars of the League are:

LOL. I was going to say wrong thread!

Strange, but true - I have gained some respect for the umpires (that had previously flown right out the window after some of their efforts against us this year!) after their fair, unbiased performance in the grand final. I think the only 'poor' decisions were a couple of soft frees to Jolly for ruck infringements, and even those were cancelled out by a couple to Gardiner early in the game.

I believe the term "superstar" is over used.

I agree that the superstar tag should be used for the elite of the competition.

Not only in AFL is it over used but in plenty of other sports as well.
Well done Craig Bolton for getting the co- captaincy in 2008.

Your determination, your tenacity and your under-rated skill is why you have become my favourite player!
