Maybe..
But why does this remind me of the Brisbane/Collingwood rivalry of 2002-2003? I can see us beating them in next year's grand final for some reason.
I think Cousins' speech after the game "It's not the end, it's just the beginning" reminded me of Buckley who I think said something similar in 2002, and we all know what happened after that...

I remember when Philloppoussis said that after losing to Federer in the 2003 Wimbledon final. And I knew that he had pretty much peaked then and there. Yes he won the Davis cup a month or so later, but he hasn't done @@@@ since then. First round exit after first round exit.
The only slam success he has are chics.
That's the problem with modern day medicine - there's no more natural selection of the species.
No wonder there's so many Collingwood fans.
As much as i hate to agree with anyone from West Coast, they are right the AFL Premiership prizemoney needs to be increased. If the NRL can offer a $400,000 premiership prize then surely the AFL can go one better?

So you're advocating a prize of $400,001???
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.
250,000 is not much of a prize when you consider the turnover of the AFL and the status of AFL as the premier football code in the country. $1,000,000.00 would appear to be a much more appropriate reward for the premier team IMO
i agree with the raise of the prize money because carlton got $220,000 4 winning the wizard cup and then the team who wins the premiership only gets $250,000. Poor SWANS!!!
We will mourn, but it will make us stronger....watch out AFL Sydney will be back in 2007 come September

I quite agree. You may want to check my maths on this one, but if you take the GF alone; 92,000 in the MCG at an average ticket price of say $120 each (and that's probably understating wildly given the corporate packages etc) - and that means just a shade over $11m in takings for the day!
Now granted there are huge costs involved in putting on the GF, but still ...! And to give only 2% of takings out as prize money? Seems there may be a slight imbalance there ...?!?
