I was in the cheersquad from 78-80. It was before then that I stood behind them. Do those dates coincide?

Yes! 1st games i remember standing there were the early 70's and we used to go every week until we re-located. I progressed from dads shoulders to standing on beer cans (when i got a little taller). I wasprobably racing you out to the centre after the game to get Bedford's signature!!!!

Next thing you know someone'll suggest changing the colours because we only started wearing red and white after the amalgamation with Albertr Park.

According to 100 Years of Australian FootballViking Books, p19

"The meeting decided to adopt the colours of 'a red and white cap with blue stripe from back to front, blue knickers, blue and white jersey and hose and a scarlet sash over the left shoulder'"

I wonder why we haven't worn that for a heritage round jumper. Now that we have worn a different jumper to win a premiership in other than the good old white with red V (which personally I love), that being the reason we have been wearing it - because it was the last jumper that we won a premiership in - until 2005, does this mean we will now have new a style heritage round jumper?

Probably because the players don't wear caps anymore.

They should wear members caps too.

With the exception of 2 years in 1970 and 971 when I was overseas I have hardly missed a game in Melbourne. I was part of the upheaval when the Sydney move was being pushed and in fact voted for the team to move to Sydney.

I have sat in the members stand occasionally but I preferred to stand on the members wing with the occasional move behind the goals at the stand end.

It is true we were called the Swans by some but we knew them as South. Supporters screamed 'Carn the Bloods!' OR 'Carn South', never 'Carn the Swans!'

You say "where you were sitting". Only the ladies sat on the one row of seats surrounding the ground. The men stood. As you say you didn't sit in the members stand I guess you are a woman. Is that correct? I may know you. Anyway I will back my memory of the South/Bloods/Swans against yours any day.
                  Now that's credibility!
