Jeer, jeer the red and the white

    Nice article....

Darrell Halim reports, It's time the Swans were given credit for their Premiership success.

But, luckily for Swans fans, rule changes don?t appear to seriously alter Roos? winning game plan as is evident from the past three years and, even more fortunately, nor did they do so last year after stout criticism from one of the most powerful individuals in the sport.
So it?s not as if the rest of the sporting world is unsatisfied with the Swans? highly disciplined yet often exhilarating style of play and Roos? apparent humdrum strategy.
    Thanks Darrell!

Great article. Given my dislike for Demetriou and what he is doing to our game, I love this description of his comments.

If the biggest of bullies freely expresses such a disapproving judgment, others are bound to follow.
What is it with Demetriou's dislike for Roos? Did Paul give him a towelling up on the field one day in the past?

    Does God believe in Atheists?

On that basis, Andy D dislikes quite a few ex AFL players!

Dr J - are you a doctor of the mind? A psychologist? because I think are onto something here. Vlad is on a vendetta to wreck the game that belittled him as a player and as a man. Only when the AFL is a smoking ruin will this evil man feel revenge has been exacted.

Seriously, he is a @@@@ing idiot and my impression of the games last weekend is that many of the concerns about the rule changes were justified.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Must be the time of the year for this sort of article. Has anybody else read Brett Ratten?s piece in Inside Footy?

A couple of quotes from him:

?If Sydney doesn?t win the ball, its attack to defence transition is the best in the league?
          and
?So why did the Swans win the 2005 premiership? In a nutshell, they were the hardest working team without the football ? by a long way?

Even though he played for a crap outfit, I always admired Ratten as a footballer, he?s made a fair start as a journo

          Q. Which team will the rule changes advantage the most?
          A: See the above quotes.

I think these are two very good points he's made. You compare us to a team like StKilda, which is widely acknowledged as one of the most skilled in the competition, and then compare our work ethic to theirs, and you can see an enormous difference.

How did I just know... anyway, to stop you choking, I will clarify that I don't think it's the only reason they won. I think it's one factor - you don't win because of any single thing - it's a range of things.

Sorry, I forgot - everyone knows that it's the cheersquad that gets teams over the line.

Actually this year they might - team A kicks a point at the end of the ground where their cheersquad is, surely the tactic will be to delay giving the ball back to team B's kicker until everyone has manned up. On the other hand when team B kicks a point into team A's cheersquad the ball should come back like lightning to allow team A to play-on and exploit loose men.

Except, they have a box of balls.

When assistant for the Hawks, Chris Connolly actually told the Hawthorn Cheer Squad to do that.
