- Finding it difficult to get really excited about the season ahead

I watched the Ch10 version of the game last night for the first time after previously watching the DVD version. All I can say about the Ch10 version - although it is better than the DVD version in regard to the after match celebrations - is those bl**dy ads that went for 6 minutes all up killed the celebrations........

Roosy's speech on the podium that ends with "Here it is" still gets me, as does the sheer delight on Schneider's face/body and the boys all hugging the "King" Paul Kelly to death in the after match celebrations - that's one bloke I wish time could have held on for a further 4-5 years and he could have been holding the cup aloft.

I am looking forward to the season ahead, as we are a big chance to go back to back with the young players we have ready to push for selection and shock the AFL world at the depth of talent we have.

Best day of my life as well, as this day keeps on going and has so far extended to five months and seven days......

Just another (good) day for me. Anybody who derives that much joy from the achievements of people they do not know who have been drawn from all over the country (and further in one instance) to be paid a lot of money to play a game for the entertainment of the tv public (and subsequently provide a platform upon which to hang advertising to make money for the shareholders of the companies that advertise and the shareholders of Ch 10) probably should have some sort of psyciatric assessment. To put a Grand Final win up there with the birth of children is indicative of a very warped sense of perspective - if not reality. Yes it was good to enjoy the win, and it was a great day out. Compared with truely significant days in my life, well meh - I could wait another 70 odd years if I had to...

I was at that same end where adam kicked that goal, the only difference was that I wasn't speechless because it dawned on me there and then that we were into the Grand Final. I was going off my tree. Then turning to my left and watching the Saints supporters who 30 minutes earlier were organising Grand Final tickets LEAVING with heads bowed. Great memories

I thought it was a great day. I really enjoyed it and I like to recall it. There is certainly still a large element of disbelief to it all and I also don't think it could be the same again.

But it's far from my best day ever.

The thing I enjoy about it most is the pleasure my dad gets from it. He wouldn't say it was his best day ever either.

I find it a bit strange that people would actually think that.

Not strange for some people. I have no family and work isn't exactly a joyous experience so I would say that this was my best day. Im sure it will be topped if I get married and have kids but at the moment it's at the top of the list.
