The Balance Was Right, They Have It Wrong

The umpiring for the last quarter of the Semi-Final against Geelong and the entire Grand Final was the best umpiring witnessed in years.

The games were tight, the ball was gold, everybody wanted it and the umpires let it go till it was well and truly locked up. The whole AFL public were on their feet...unprecendented excitement.

The season ended and I had hope. I had hope that the AFL might see this kind of umpiring as a blueprint for season 2006.

The AFL have decided that 2006 will be the Year of the Umpiring Controversy. The paying AFL PAYING public are going to be left FURTHER confused and frustrated.

Sydney Swans were on the right side of the Free Kick ledger only twice I think in 2005. Was this not enough for Andy and Aidy?

If the AFL were looking to extend the divide between them and Sydney, they are going about it the right way!

As a code, why would you stick your chin out for fruther criticism, they haven't fixed existing interpretations and nor have they formally fixed the Appeals Board process, the tribunal farce.

The plate of problem is full and Andy is going back up to the carvery for a bit more!

Anyone else want to tee off?
