Let them go broke and relocate them!!!

Wasn't Geelong in that sort of trouble a few years ago? They have turned it around, but then they are having a degree of success on the field too.

Yes but Carlton supporters are mostly bandwagon jumpers who have never had hard times at all.

            Unlike most other clubs
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

I reckon relocate them if they cant save themselves in Melbourne, although they dont fit the mould for a Western Sydney team. Maybe a Canberra team?

Ian Collins must be the biggest @@@@head God ever gave breath to.

He was CEO during the Elliott years and has been in charge for 2 years now and the debt has further blown out. He still blames every one else

I say get the police in and charge the board for trading whilst insolvent and throw them in jail like they have other company directors.

Then let the clubs Carlton have shat on previously and tried to take over feed on the scraps.

Hmmm...that would include us, remember David Rhys-Jones, Bernie Evans, Barry Mitchell. They are one club I would love to see go under.

I hope we simply say - "remember when we were about to go bust, only two clubs voted against saving us - Carlton and Melbourne - so to return that 'favour', guess what our view of saving them is..."

I feel very sorry for Blues fans. I know many and they are devastated by the fortunes of their club. I would hate to see another team and their fans go thru what Fitzroy and the Swans have gone through, in relation to folding, relocating, being in the financial toilet.

Their directors have a LOT to answer for and the AFL and the members of the Blues should be dragging both present and past board members through the civil courts for their appalling stewardship.

                            It's tragic.

Bandwagon How do you explain record membership numbers then? The last thing you could accuse Carlton supporters of are bandwagon.

Also until 1968 Carlton had a drought of 31 years without a premership only going close on two occasiaons 49 and 62. It has only been our recent history that has been particularily successfull 8 premerships in 27 years and now nothing again in the past 10 years.

I can handle the lean times like most real supporters.

Humphrey Bear you normally seem more knowledgable. Carlton have reduced debt from 11Mil to 7Mil in the past 2 years. Most of the Carlton debts relate to the writing down of Jacks Legends Stand. The losses incurred over the past 12 months relate to the Social Club not the Football club but the media likes to inflame situations. The Football Club made a profit not a loss.

I think its sad the way footy is heading these days. The AFL doesnt give a @@@@ about the fans, they only care about money.

What happens when the AFL decides that the time is right for a second Sydney side? Ill bet that you lose you additional funding and incentices becuase to have two teams you must now be viable regardless of the market you have to compete in.

Demtispew has a hard on for Carlton and always has. He took great delight in the Salary cap penalties handed down yet overlooked those committed by other sides. Dont anyone tell me James Hird and Matthew Lloyd are inteligent enought to set up their own websites then extort $500000 ea from Essendon for the rights.

Why was Carlton forced to give up Princes Park and go to the Dome and not the G as they wanted? Why get rid of PP when its playing surface was second to none in Victoria and can hold 30K fans when we have serious concerns over the Domes playing surface and teams from interstate who draw low crowds (not refering to the Swans here) and losses are made when they play at either the G or Dome. Doesnt make smart business sense does it.

Before anyone mentions the 3mil that Carlton received for going to the Dome note this was to enable Carlton to break its catering contract with Spotless at PP. Carlton continues to experiece a 1.8mil annual expense for the up keep of PP (dont ask me why its so expensive) and will continue to do so for the next 30years until the lease runs out.
