Another in the long line of articles that wants a second team in Sydney before Sydney is ready for it.
David Smorgon seems pretty happy about it as well.
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

From what I understand, Andy D has the 'vision' to see a second team in Sydney by 2015. To me, this seems llike a more realistic timeline. He would no doubt have hoped to see a massive hike in the sport's popularity after the Premiership, but I think it will take a little more for the true effects to be felt.
However, I'm not sure if even 9 years is a realistic time frame.

There isn't a big enough population in Canberra to support an AFL side
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

I disagree. Canberra's population is larger than Geelong's. It has enough people to support the Raiders and the Brumbies.I reckon that a lot of ex-Southern state people now living in Canberra, plus some locals, would support a Canberra based AFL team. When I lived in Canberra in the 70's AFL was the most popular code.

I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.
