The Wild Swan - Nick Davis contemplates the 3rd coming of Gary Ablett

I'm not off beat just my own kinda guy

He's just off beat, not a big ego I suspect. Just an odd sense of humour

One enduring memory for me in the last qrtr of the GF was him fighting to get the ball to the line in the last minutes

And the last qrtr against Geelong..........................

Davis Bags four - I think they are refering to goals

You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

I thought he had a fantastic last quarter in the GF. And it was in the midfield and defence too. He had a couple oof really important possessions and took it upon himself to clear the ball from on our D50.

Interesting that Swans hierarchy identify Goodes, Davis and MOL as the best 3 raw talents at the club.

Bit like Dale Lewis who had one really great season (1997), amongst a pretty ordinary career given his natural ability. That was when he finally knew he had to work hard.

Did he come out burning (and looking really fit) at begining of 2004 season against Brisbane before a hip injury?

Any way - I would love to see the best of him, but leave the Brownlow for Monty

Pretty hard to argue with that. They each have so much natural ability.

not surprising at all, those three clearly stand out. they do not fit the profile of the swans as 'blue collar workers' - as much as we value a high work ethic, davis' last goal at last years semi final, goodes' 2003 year/ game against adelaide at aami, or mick's freakish banana goal against the bombers last year at the TD couldn't happen to just anyone.

they don't call mick magic for nothing!
