    Jarred Molloy on the Swans on ABC radio

    Was listening to the tips on ABC Melbourne this morning. Jarred Molloy said, "I can't believe how many people have written off the Swans this year. They won the flag last year on discipline and heart, you don't lose that in one off-season. They will be up thereabouts at the end of the year." (paraphrased as I don't remember his exact words.)

    Finally an "expert" who seems to know what he's talking about.

      Contrast this with the 4 geese on Fox League Teams who all tipped Essendon, in spite of knowing about the questions surrounding Hird and J Johnson. You'd think at least one of them would have picked the Swans, although Barnesy would never tip against the Bombers, and Dunstall never picks the Swans either...

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

      If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

          Who are the four on it this year - I assume Mike and Schwatta. I saw Mike picked Essendon in the HSun (by 30 pts - what a fwt! ) but what about Schwass?

              It was actually Dunstall, Schwass, Barnes and Luke Darcy. Not sure if Darcy is just there for a week or if he's permanently taken over from Mike.

              The strange thing was that none of them game any reason for the Bombers winning. I wouldn't expect Barnes too, but thought the others might have. There was no real discussion about why the premiers would lose to the side placed 13th last year, when our team has made only 3 changes (and I can't see how not having Bevan is a disadvantage).

                I'm surprised on Schwass.

                Not so much on Darcy - he always sounds reasonable, but what he says if you listen closely is actually very obvious. He tends to just go for the herd view.

                I suspect none of them gave this game much thought - switched into automatic mode and took the default response - Ess v. Syd @ home = Ess win.

                  So you all have this one pencilled in as a win?

                    I have EVERY game pencilled in as a win! It's mandatory!

                    What though the odds be great, or small,
                    Swans will go in and win over all;

                      I picked Essendon. This is because I am a hardened pessimist. I picked us three times in the last ten rounds last year (once we got on a roll I couldn't change!), being Richmond, Bris and Haw. If I didn't support Sydney, I'd pick them tomorrow.

                      I am also a notoriously bad tipper. To support this, I'll be at the Great Western Hotel on King St before the game slotting through $3 mystery trifectas.

                            Both preferably!!

                            The latter is what is on the club's official website but the former is what we achieved in 2005.
