Heath James' Melbourne Trips to Watch the Swans

At the Guernsey Presentation, I asked Heath James about his plans for trips to Melbourne games for Swans fans.

He has set up a company that does charter flights. They have two trips planned for Swans fans.....

Round 7 vs Richmond and Round 19 vs Melbourne.

You will fly down ?Business Class? on a 60 seat jet, 2 hours before the game. Then buses will pick you up off the tarmac and take you straight to the game with no messing around. Straight after the game you will meet back at the bus and head straight back to the airport to hop back on the private jet. You will also have a past player (e.g. Heath, Matthew Nicks, Jason Ball, Brad Seymour.......etc), as your chaperone for the trip and a few other special prizes will also be included.

The price will be around $660 including GST.

If you're interested, PM me and I'll give you the contact details.

For that price, I demand at least a drink with an umbrella in it.

      9) Spamming - Advertising for commercial purposes is not permitted.

Is this a rule or a guideline?

It's a genuine inquiry. Seems that there are 2 sets of rules here.

Seeing it is a service for Swans fans, I don't see an issue.

I also don't see it as an issue with news on cheap fares on Virgin Blue, Jetstar or Qantas for away games being posted here - Bron's post is in the same vein.

Simply an option for fans to get down to Melbourne for an away game.

So the rule that says that advertising for commercial purposes is not permitted does not apply. Thanks, that's all I wanted to know. Could we please have a notice posted as a sticky outlining when and to whom the rules will and will not apply.

FWIW it is nothing like notifying others of airline deals. The above is an ad - a dead set invitation to treat.

Bron isn't running the operation ROK. She is merely passing on information to Swans fans. This happens all the time and this type of information should be shared on this type of board.

Simply isn't a big deal, and doesn't need to be a big deal.

Price, date, details of services provided and an invitation to provide further details. It is an ad. That does not worry me. What worries me is that it offends a rule. Threads are deleted by robbieando because he perceives that they break rules, by implying motive to what was an innocent request. Threads that blatantly break rules stay. That is the issue, and I think it is a big deal.

It's not an issue unless Bron is getting a cut of the profits. If she is, then she can enjoy a ban, courtesy of the rules.

Would it make you happier if she simply posts the contact details so that any interested parties can just contact them on their own?

ROK, I think you're really starting to enjoy this (being an annoyance to those that you think need annoying) just a bit too much. It's cheap points scoring, with little or no risk. You can do better than that, surely.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

                          Agree.

ROK Lobster, grow up, get over it and find a life.

No different to discussing any other fare, be it Qantas, jet *, Virgin, Paul Stoddart Airways, or any other airline.

We lost a game of football & ROK Lobster is sqabbling over something as petty as this like a 5 year old, wanting ATTENTION, again.

With all due respect Des, it is a rules issues afaic. Robbieando deleted a thread of mine and threaten 'further action' of some such crap because he perceived (in my opinion wrongly) that I broke a rule. He was very clear that he took the action on the grounds that a rule was broken. Here we have a thread that expressly offends a rule. I have no problem with the content and I wish Heath all the best (I hope his planes are better built than him). I just think that the rules are being applied differently to different people and that the mods play the man and not the ball a little too much.
