Inanimate Carbon Rod >> Paul Chambers

Didn't see anything last night from this recruit that gave me any reason to think he'll be any more than an in-and-out bit player for the Swans.

At least you've given him a chance.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

My intial reaction was that he had been recruited to ease Spriggs' homesickness, but will give him until qtr time next week before I draw any firm conclusions.

I actually thought he went ok. Not sure what he was supposed to do to pass this particular test.

Minimum 4 goals, 15 possies, 10 marks, 25 hit outs, 4 tackles and an embarrassing, yet endearing, incident. But that's only half the battle for RWO acceptance. He has to hug the cheer-squad like Jolly did in Brisbane last year. HEARTS and minds.

              I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I think Unco is a good nickname, he looks worse than LRT, and that was when he was running around the boudary, warming up.

They shouldn't show his face close up. The Rainman stare is a little bit disturbing.

He definitely has a vacant look to him.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Looked like he had about 20min on the ground all night. I give that a pass mark. And its only his first game.

To be fair, it is probably a bit too early to judge him - perhaps wait until Rd 5?

But seriously, with Bally gone we need to develop a solid ruck partnership. From what I saw of the pre-seasons, I thought Donkey would be first choice, but Roos obviously had other ideas. And who am I to argue with the coach of the PREMIERS?!?

Earl Shaw I understand is back in to full training. From what little I saw last year in the Wiz Cup he appears to know where the ball is at.

I would think when is fully fit he needs to be introduced. Other clubs are now bringing on young ruckmen in their second year, why not us.

Man this is harsh on Chambers.

Sounds like Richmond, all this after one game in.

I personally think getting Jamar from Melbourne/Sandringham (played in 2 VFL premierships) woulda been a better target to rejoin Jolly. That said Chambers it is.

The criticism he gets is easily related to Doyle in the same. Jolly was way better than expected and shouldn't be Chambers yardstick.
