Hey, that was at least singable. It was "Show Em Sydney" & "Kick on you Sydney Swans" that were particularly cringeworthy, even if the latter was actually kinda boppy & camp , but in a cultish "Agadoo do do do, push pineapples, shake the tree" kind of way.

Then a few seasons later, we changed to the current banjo version (which sounds like a slightly remastered, redubbed south version). That's my current preference.

There is one that was on the "Swans Songs" CD released around 98/99. THAT one is rank.
Your right Des, there are a couple of versions of the song floating around.

The one they played on Saturday night is the synthersied down beat version, which sounds awful.

Not too sure if it is Telstra Dome or whether Essendon as the home team gets a look in to which version they play.

Definately worth an e-mail to the Melbourne office to ask them to follow up with Telstra Dome before next weeks game.

I've always wondered about "What though". Is that proper English, or is it from the same gene pool as "girth by sea" ?

Lyrics to songs don't necessarily have to be grammatically correct do they?

BTW it's "girt by sea" as in surrounded.
