            I don't know about the umps, but I've always liked this mission statement:
            Space. The final frontier.

            These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise. Her five-year mission: To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.
            It does have a split infinitive, and doesn't conform to political correctness by using "man" to mean "person" and calling the ship "she". Yet it's still a lot better than the dross that some companies produce.
