Who was it on here that called him "Throbbie Balls"? Now that was hilarious.

However, having said all that, the language is a bit softer than first thought. He said words to the effect, "it's LIKE he is coaching for his career". Rather than, "Paul Roos is coaching for his career".

This to me can mean Wallsy was likening our game plan to Rocket's when he was nearing what turned out to be the end of his tenure.

If we are all honest with ourselves, the game plan looked a heck of a lot like that and we all know that Roosy was thinking several levels above that as evidenced by the Win/Loss ratio soon after.

To me this means Wallsy is a bit simple and a bit shallow but not vicious. He would have done himself a big favour by making his opinion piece an interview and not a controversial 'second guess fest'.

It was ok, filled in an hour and dampened the urge to check to scores online between 7.10 and 7.40.

I like Robert Walls. He is not always right but at least he has an opinion, is prepared to state it, usually backs it up, and can cope when he is wrong. Sydney were awful early last season and if they had have continued playing that way would not have won the premiership. Where the responsibility for the way they were playing (and where the subsequent improvement came from) lies is a matter for some speculation but I think that Walls was justified in criticisng the game plan and the style of play. I also like the way Robert gets so excited when the big muscly boys run through the banner, all oiled up.

I'm with you Lobster - Walls is far from right everty time, but at least he has played the game at the highest level and won Premierships and coached at the highest level and won premierships. So has Malcom Blight . Better than crap like Patrick Smith , Mike sheanen, Caroline "Rotweiller" Wilson and others.

Sydney were @@@@house early last year and that game at Telstra
                against the Saints was crap.

But credit to Roos and the team for knowing what was best and acheiving the ultimate prize which we have ALL wanted for so long.

Walls may regret his comments now, but at the time he MAY have been right (in his own mind) - and he had the guts to say it, but he was wrong in denying he didn't say it and used the "out of context" excuse

It is a sad to see 2 champions who no doubt respect each other
playing no speaks, but it sells papers and adds to TV ratings

                  I disagree on Walls.

Much of the time, especially during commentary, he states the obvious as if it is a profound statement and then repeats it ad nauseum for the rest of the game.

I also find he has no memory for the long-term - ie anything beyond a week. In this he is not alone within the media. One week a team or a player is a champion, and the next week they are a dud. Most journos don't seem to be able to look at long term trends and patterns, or to see evolution.

The problem with his comments on the Swans' play midway through last year was that he chose to phrase them in a personal way, and was making assumptions about motives that he couldn't possibly know. I'm not surprised that Roos was upset.

The Swans were appalling in that Saints game last year, which led to Walls comments. But he, in particular, doesn't seem to be able to distinguish between poor strategy and poor execution.

You should see the amount of flak Geelong are coping atm. This time last week the Cats were the darlings of the local media and were being talked up.

Fast Forward to this week and the cats are now duds. Beats me.

It was a much more satisfying hour than the three that followed, that's for sure.

I'm not sure what to think of the Walls V Roos thing. I assumed that it would have died down by now. Sure, I agree that Walls is a @@@@, but I would have thought Roos would feel content with knowing that he proved Walls (and Demetriou et. al) wrong and let bygones be bygones. He got to laugh last and loudest.

I've also never seen any highlights of last year, so seeing it all together was wonderful. Liked the interjections of the players - Willo reiterating his "why is this idiot jumping all over me?" and I think Goodesy is a very eloquent public speaker. Of all the Swans players, I probably like hearing him speak the most.

One thing I'd forgotten was that Ablett's mark before he kicked across goal to Cousins was actually a really good one.

A good one handed grab for the mark, as for the kick you see better playing park footy.
Given the hour timeframe (less for ads), a well produced doco IMHO
