    Complacent. Self-satisfied. Undisciplined. UnSydneylike.

    ...

Some of these things are true.

That has been the most reassuring thing I've read all week. Certainly puts things into perspective.

"You spoke sternly to the players at quarter-time on Sunday and nothing changed in the second quarter. Does that personally hurt you?

I don't take anything personally. What we try and instil, is that the coaches are simply here to facilitate them being successful. I honestly believe that. The coach's role is for the players. My footy career is over. So it is their decision on whether they want to take on the instructions. In a way it affects me because I'm the coach but ultimately I know at some time I am not going to be the coach. And it is their footy careers that they have to look back on."

A great quote IMHO - shows a different approach to some more egotistical coaches out there (Malthouse for starters!)

Great article. Roos is certainly one out of the box when it comes to coaching. Is it any wonder we have been successful since he took over.

              Still festively plump IMO

              I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Have to admire the man - in effect he's saying "I'll take my responsibilities, the players have to take theirs." Team work all the way.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Apart from the uber-bulked LRT, most seem much lighter this season - esp Baz, Pebbles and Nicky D. So I'm on the side of those commentators wondering if they have gone too fit and scrawny over summer. Right now, they'd have to run around to cast a shadow.

Jolly is still in his "honeymoon faze" obviously the new wife is testing all of her Womans Weekly recipes on him - he is a little bigger than last year.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Agree Wardster! Jolly looks like he over-did the Christmas dinner festivities.

Too much horizontal training and not enough vertical training.

The fitness gurus keep telling us as long as we keep moving we are burning calories, so does it really matter if the training is horizontal or vertical?

Unfair - if you mean Nicky D. He seems to be getting lots of horizontal training and then tops it off with some vertical when he has to run if when too many of his trainers turn up at the airport.
